Top ways to experience Mikkeller Bar and nearby attractions
The area
Neighbourhood: Inner Vesterbro
This neighbourhood is home to Tivoli Gardens, a world famous amusement park and beautiful garden always worth a visit. Just west of Tivoli, you’ll find Copenhagen Central Station, from where you can reach just about every part of Denmark within 5 or 6 hours, or you can reach Copenhagen Airport in less than 15 minutes. Next to the Central Station, you’re in the middle of “old” Vesterbro, where several cultures and hundreds of languages are spoken in an area not more than one square mile. This neighbourhood is considered one of the most trendy places to live in and to visit in Copenhagen. For a real treat, visit Kødbyen ("meat town"), home to several restaurants, cafés and nightclubs, all within a short walk of each other.

Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This cozy basement bar is the Vesterbro outpost of the burgeoning Mikkeler empire.
But describing it as an "empire" might send you in the wrong direction. We also visited their Baghaven (Refshaleøen) and Mikkeler & Friends (Nørrebro) locations on this trip, and here's what you might expect at any Mikkeler spot:
* A great range & selection of beer on tap. (20ish at this location)
* Friendly staff who will happily answer questions without making you feel like a novice.
* Spaces designed for conversation.
This is a smallish space - seating maybe 30-40 comfortably - so bear this in mind if you're headed there during peak hours. But if you have any interest in beer at all, definitely add it to your list.

So Mikkeller is sort of a Danish version of the UK based Brewdog, I guess. Over 20 different beers on tap, I stuck to the sours which were beautiful. We visited around 5pm and only just managed to get a seat, it was very busy but such a great atmosphere and the beer was fantastic.

We were staying a block away and heard from locals that this place had award-winning beers. The tables outside were pretty full, but we found a quiet table inside. Both the regular and the alcohol-free beer (Drink'in the Sun) were great. Recommended!

On Dining Week in Copenhagen we wanted to try the Mikkeller Bar in Vesterbro, Copenhagen.
This week is a preset four course lunch at a special price. And then you choose the beer(s) you want to drink to the food.
We started by my wife falling, because of a chair problem- the bar was not to blame, and when we asked for the bill, we were told that the beer was on the house, because of the “accident”. Service at highest degree.
The food was excellent- very delicate and not with a lot garnish not belonging there. All in all food for both the eye and the stomach.
The service was very alert and kind and helping.
The environment is very special - a very small room, very minimalistic furnished, - the atmosphere being great for an informal dining with a beer or maybe two.
So all in all this is a 5 star experience and we do recommend going here.

This is a must go place for any serious beer drinker. Staff is very welcoming and extremely knowledgeable. 20 taps of glorious Mikkeller beer will keep you very busy and happy indeed :)
Most beers range from 35dkk small / 70dkk medium
Cellar has a great selection of craft bottles and some rarities, just ask staff behind the bar and they will happily show you.
Been to Copenhagen twice and both times paid a visit to them!

Absolutely delicious brews, offering about 20 taps to choose from, as well as different glass sizes from 2dl onwards. Their brewery is behind the bar itself, which brings beautiful scents to your table when they open the back door in order to check on their ongoing brews. Beware their taps change fast given the high demand they face in this bar, hence the selection might not be exactly what's on display in their website. We tasted four small beers of different kinds (imperial stout, indian pale ale, lambic and belgian tripel) and all of them were excellent (just what you'd expect from Mikkeller!) Located in a sort of mini red-light district of Copenhaguen, the place is quite small, cosy and kind of hipster to be honest, It offers a few seats outside as well. Beware of how very crowded this bar gets in the evenings. We decided to go for a drink at around 15h and it was really calm, peaceful and welcoming, which made us have a fantastic time.
