The area
Address
Neighbourhood: Amager
In the eastern part of this neighbourhood, visitors will discover Amager Strandpark, a beach area which has become increasingly popular. It’s only a 30 minute bicycle ride or a 10 minute Metro trip away from the city center. Only a few hundred yards inland, some of the most creative musicians, artists, and writers in Copenhagen are occupying some of the old storage houses and production facilities. The western part is one of Copenhagen's most rapidly evolving areas, here you’ll find international architecture of the highest rank, the state of the art TV-Byen (the Danish pendant to BBC), a golf course as well as Copenhagen's best (and tiniest) ice bar.

Visited during the winter with a 3 year old. We really enjoyed the aquarium and highly recommend it to other families. The highlight of the day was being able to relax and watch all of the incredible sharks, rays and turtles in the huge tank.
Reason for not being 5 stars is the lack of other activities and / or a larger cafe or restuarant that would allow for more time to be spent at the aquarium; our visit was only a few hours but we’re hoping to spend more of the day there.
Good to know: lockers are available for 10 dkk.

Great location and beautiful surroundings both inside and out. Really cute and welcoming staff who are always ready to tell about all the animals! The kids were overly satisfied and that's why we give 3 stars, because the food, on the other hand, drops sharply!
Our experience with restaurant Tang is really disappointing. 2 adults and 1 young child. 520 kr for food including soda. Fair price for delicious food. We adults ordered salad with chicken and roasted cabbage. When we got it, it mostly looked like something taken from a large container in the refrigerator and squeezed onto the plate with a pot box. Ice-cold. Unappetitive colors (bleach, greasy and refrigerated chicken mixed together with soft cabbage. We thought it might taste okay, even though we didn’t want to put our teeth in it. We took a couple of bits and then looked at each other and had to acknowledge that neither of us would get through this course. We approached the staff and asked if we could get some fries instead. We could well and I asked for how to settle, because the salad had cost 169x2. We got 169 kr back and ended up paying 169 for 2 small plates of pommes frites.
I think we bring our own food another time or we don't make our visit at meal time.
Really awful experience, the view of the restaurant is fantastic and it would have been great to combine this with a delicious meal!

The aquarium is close to the airport and proved to be a great activity for the last morning of the trip before heading to the airport.
You can see many species there, activities, the shark tank is particularly impressive. We also really liked the tropical greenhouse.
The only problem was that the “big” lockers weren’t big enough for our suitcase which wasn’t huge either. So we went around dragging it behind us… Cabin luggage can, however, be left in the lockers without any problem.

The aquarium is easy to access via the metro train with a 10min walk from the station. By your ticket on line to save money - to avoid long queue they only let a set number of people in each hour. While the layout out is a bit confusing- more designed for the architect to win an award than for the users the displays are very good with marine and freshwater. The highlights were the sea otter and archer fish talks, enthusiastic presenters and the otters and fish play to the audience- you can hold a cricket while the archer fish spit it out of your hand. Food is expensive but not exorbitant.

Istanbul Aquarium is a great place for family vacations and simply for those who love the underwater world. There are impressive shark tunnels, rare fish species, interesting theme areas and a great atmosphere. Everything is very beautiful, well-kept, the staff is polite, and the exhibitions themselves are thought out to detail.
The only downside is the ticket price. 1,050 liras for admission seems expensive, especially if you're walking as a family. But if that point is not taken into account, only positive impressions remain. If you like oceanariums, then it is definitely worth visiting!

Buying tickets online, so cheap, for 19.00. It's been a pleasure to have the oceanarium open so late. We got caught feeding otters and some huge fish very much these fish eat interesting. The gulping piece exhales the air with noise. There's a big parking lot nearby. The oceanarium isn't too big, so we had a quiet time before closing time at 9 p.m. to look around and still had time to look in the gift shop. In the rainforest, look underfoot, there are tiny frogs jumping on the paths.

First and foremost, the exterior architecture of the aquarium is amazing and eye-catching - with definite landmark status.
On the inside the aquarium is split into 3 clear sections, with exhibits numbered for easy route tracking. The aquariums are well stocked with a wide range of exotic and healthy fish and other marine animals - both freshwater and sea.
We particularly enjoyed the rainforest section which showcased a walk through tropical rainforest, with multiple "pond" exhibits for top-down viewing. You can then take stairs down to a lower level which allows you to view the same ponds from the side like an aquarium - making for a great viewing experience.
Highly recommend for a visit when visiting Copenhagen.

It's a nice aquarium but surprisingly small. We spend around two hours excluding lunch and we saw it all.
Remember to pack some extra clothes for the kids 'cause the outdoor playground has a lot of water activity and no chance you'll keep the kids away from that.
Pricey lunch but you can bring your own food that you can sit inside and enjoy it.

A fantastic day where we learned so much! And we were in awe most of the time seeing these amazing animals in, what seemed to be fairly good spaces. Great place for all ages. And the restaurant offers really good food for a reasonable price.

It’s a nice an aquarium with some really nice fish. They don’t take Copenhagen card though so it can be a bit expensive. ~900 DKK for 2 adults and 2 kids. The huge wall in the aquarium is really cool and so is the walkthrough tunnel.

could I get in for free with the Copenhagen Card?
Written 13 September 2021
Hi, I’m planning on going to the aquarium tomorrow, can someone advise how long I should allow for my visit? I only have 2 hours free, is this enough time?
Thanks in advance
