Copenhagen Free Walking Tours invites you to join our 3 different Free Walking Tours through the heart of Copenhagen. We suggest starting with our Grand Tour of Copenhagen, taking in the famous city landmarks like Christiansborg Palace, Nyhavn and Amalienborg Palace while we discuss history, culture, people, food and so much more on an easy 3 hour walk through the city center of Copenhagen. This tour starts everyday at 10 am, 11am and 3pm* from the steps of the Town Hall (Radhuspladsen). Just keep your eyes peeled for the smiliest guides in town, wearing green name badges and holding bright neon green umbrellas. You can't miss us!

Join us in Spanish at 11am or 3pm everyday at the steps of the Town Hall!

We also have two alternative tours - the Christianshavn Tour, and the Classical Tour. Both tours run for 90 minutes and see distinct neighbourhoods in Copenhagen that we do not cover on the Grand Tour.

We also work closely with Pub Crawl Copenhagen! Come and drink with us!

Please check out our website for seasonal start times, and locations. Booking in advance is not required but very much appreciated.

Very very good =) Alot of knowledge and humor from Dan O and I have seen a lot of good places. Grabbing a late lunch at paper island is a good suggestion!

Had a great walking tour from a great Peruvian Man who was so energetic and enthusiastic! Fire seemed to be a running theme throughout. I enjoyed the tour, it was very informative and was a lovely sunny day for it!

I did three walking tours: the classical tour, the Christianshavn tour, and the grand tour of Copenhagen. Danish Daniel and Australian Jarod conducted the tours. Both were funny and informative guides. Danish Daniel especially answered a lot of our questions regarding life in Denmark using examples from his life in Denmark, and I appreciated his personal input. There is some... More

We really enjoyed this tour. A great way to learn about the history without it being too political or heavy. Our guide, Danish Dan, spoke perfect English. He was funny and knowledgeable. Do this tour before you do anything else in Copenhagen. It really helped us get our bearings. Cobbled streets but not strenuous. Would suit all ages and abilities.... More

Despite the poor weather, our guide, Luis, was extremely excited to show us and teach us about the many iconic landmarks and the culture of Copenhagen.

After enjoying a sleep in, a coffee and a local cinnamon bun were in order for the three hour tour to come. I arrived at the City Hall steps at a convenient time of 11 where we were split into smaller groups. I ended up in a group of a dozen with a charismatic local guide named Magnus. Right from... More

The first thing I look for when I go to other places are the free tours. I was so happy I found the Copenhagen Free Walking Tours because I only had one day to spare for sight seeing. I contacted them via email; Rikke and Cheresse were very helpful and responded to my enquiries re: getting to the meeting place... More

My girlfriend and I took the Grand Tour of Copenhagen yesterday, the tour was guided by Jarod an Aussie who has lived in Copenhagen for the last six years. He gave a really engaging tour and despite the group being around 30 Jarod managed to make it feel a pretty personalised experience. Each stop in the tour provided fascinating historical... More

Staying in Indre By (Inner City)

Neighbourhood Profile
Indre By (Inner City)
This is the heart of old town Copenhagen, with its blend of charming old buildings and bold new architecture, broad avenues and tiny streets as well as picturesque canals and a modern harbor. The inner city is home to the Royal Danish Theatre, which consists of three buildings, two of which are new and situated on the harbor front. The streets, squares and venues of the inner city and its surrounding neighborhoods, are alive all year round with everything from jazz festivals to outdoor ice skating rinks and parachuting at the lakes right in the center of the city. This compact area boasts beautiful old castles, tranquil parks, and bustling squares where you can always find a bench to stretch out your legs whenever you need a break.
