Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I had no idea that the island was so beautiful! Aside from the historic palace and museums, the gardens are lovely to sit and relax in

We soon realised once walking round Copenhagen that most areas are beautiful and this was the same. Accessibility within important locations was surprising and refreshing. Most cities are more regulated where you are allowed as pedestrians , not so in Copenhagen and this area was another example. Read up on the history if not on a walking tour like we were as it enhances the visit and the stories behind the buildings bring them to life . We were lucky and saw the royal horses being exercised .

A very pretty - and not too rigorous - area to take a walk. And if you are lucky, you can see some of the horses as they come out from the stables to exercise. Beautifully kept grounds. Many photo opportunities.

This is an island withing the city of Copenhagen dominated by the Christiansborg Palace which includes the Parliament, the Supreme Court, the Prime Minister's Office and the State Rooms of the Queen. The most important ministries, the National Archives, the Royal Library, several museums and the historic buildings of the Christian IV's Stock Exchange, the Chancellery and Christian IV's Brewhouse are also located here.
An interesting fact is that 18 people are listed as total population here. Would love to know who they are!

A most interesting area to walk around. Different buildings to see, some important and well known like the Christiansborg Palace, and Royal Library and lesser known buildings in quiet corners. It covers quite a large area and when we were there at the end of summer it was very quiet.

The ruins of Bishop Absalon's 1167 castle, Christiansborg Castle, Ministry of Finance, the Stock Exchange and Royal Library, along with several other sites, are all on Castle Island which makes it a mandatory destination for visitors.

While on a boat tour we went through this beautiful area with beautiful landmarks. The stock exchange building was an amazing sight.

Slotsholmen is an islet in central Copenhagen, the site of the first royal castle. While fires destroyed earlier palaces, the glorious Christianborg Slot (built 1907-1928) remains today. It is currently the home of the Danish Parliament, Supreme Court and Prime Minister’s office. There is much to see on Slotsholmen, including Christianborg Slot, the views from its tower, the equestrian statues of Christian IX and Frederick VII, the old stock exchange and Thorvaldsens Museum. Several bridges allow easy access to Slotsholmen. A major destination in Copenhagen.
