It was a nice place to see. Very easy to get to...just use the hop on/hop off city tour busses. They take you right in front.

This is very interesting sculptures. It reminds me of the great Greeks mythological characters. Too bad when we went there, it was during winter last year. In the summer, I bet it is much better to see this fountain.

The sculptures are impressive and beautiful. The fountain itself was not running in December and the adjacent Church was holding services so we didn't go in there. Best of all though was the lunch we had in the Restaurant Esplanaden 48 across the street. The finest traditional Danish food (smorrebrod) in the city.

The sculpture of the fountain was spectacular although the water was shut off. There is beauty Anglican church nearby. Good place to stop when you walk to Little Mermaid statue or plan to visit Kastellet.

The sculpture of the fountain was spectacular although the water was shut off. The fountain represents the story of the founding of Denmark from land ploughed up from Sweden. The bust of Winston Churchill shows the Danish gratitude for Britain's rescue from the Nazis.

There were no water when I was there, and it was on the way to see the Little Mermaid. Took some photos and moved on.

We happened across this beautiful fountain on the hop on hop off bus. Winter time, there was no water running on the fountain, but you can still admire the beauty of the fountain. Must be quite a photo op during warmer season.

Truly spectacular! I found myself completely in awe of the workmanship and walked around it several times so that I could appreciate its beauty. It was donated by the Carlsberg Foundation in 1887 and taken out of commission in 1999 so that refurbishment could take place. The fountain resumed life again in 2004 and has been in use ever since.... More
