The area
Address
Neighbourhood: Frederiksberg
Located between Noerrebro and Vesterbro you’ll find Frederiksberg, which is actually a municipality in itself but completely surrounded by Copenhagen. Here there are several fine theaters, from the experimental to the great Det Ny Teater (The New Theater) which specializes in transcribing the great London and New York musicals into Danish, and has done so for several years with huge success. In Frederiksberg you’ll find Denmark’s most beautiful (and expensive) city villas. These 4-5 square miles form the Beverly Hills of Copenhagen. Here you’ll also find Frederiksberg Have (Garden) which sports huge outdoor concerts, from classical to electronic dance music. To top it off, dining options range from cozy family restaurants to some of the area’s most trendy cafés.

This is a very nice park quite centrally located next to the Copenhagen Zoo. Some restaurants and coffee shops near by.

Very nice place for nature lovers to breath better air and enjoy nature right at the city of Copenhagen. During summer we can spend hours in this area to rejuvenate.

Beautiful in any season

The fall is the perfect time to visit the garden. The trees and the fallen leaves are very colorful. Lots of different birds, ducks. The paths are numerous and easy to walk. You can even see the elephants from the zoo! Plenty of benches to sit and relax.

Very nice park with ponds, bridges, birds, royal castle. Wonderful green area for walking. It is a quite large area and there is also a zoo in this district.

Nice park
Apr. 2020
I have lived in Copenhagen half my life. I used to live in Frederiksberg which is essentially Copenhagen though the Danes insist it is not- especially those who live in Frederiksberg. It's a snob thing.

One thing they may as well be snobby about is their park, which is among the nicest in the city, by far... winding paths throughout, tons of trees, an old castle building now used as barracks sitting on a hill with a large sloping lawn below it, the nearby zoo bordering the top of the park and swans swimming the many canals everywhere.

Leave the swans alone, though, especially when there are babies. Large birds, they can be exceedingly aggressive and will happily remove your hand from your wrist.

If you're closer to the inner city, try Ørstedsparken, the next nicest park and the best park in Copenhagen proper. If you're gay then you're in luck. At night it becomes cruise capital around the bridge area.

When my children were ver young we spent many hours at the park, doing what Danes do, catching a few rays when you are so lucky to actually get any at all.

If you are in the area, go for a stroll in Frederiksberg garden (Have) - This garden is unique in many ways and also have a old chinese tea house.
