This is a extraordinary island of peace and quietness in the middle of a busy city, wonderful architecture blending old and new in perfect harmony, and a great coffee shop in the basement, directly on the water.

Great public library where they welcome visitors! The newer addition is justly famous for its architecture (best appreciated from the river ferry which runs right alongside) , but the older section is interesting as well. Though the reading rooms have limited access, you can peer in through the doors. There is even a nice cafe and a restaurant. Occasional special... More

This building really demonstrates how old and new can be so beautifully blended to produce a stunning piece of architecture. A great place to drop by when you need a break from the chilly weather.

Everything is so clean in CPH. Royal librarby is a wonderfully built structure with a huge selection and cafe. Worth seeing if you are done with everything and have time.

Tourists are recommended to have a peap inside this place. The old part is connected tobtha new part... The so Called Black Diamond. Free entre and NOT the ordinary thing to see. Close to City center and other plages of cultural interest.

Like most tourists we only came to view the building that has open access. This included the corridor linking the old reading rooms and the modern part, the cafe and shop. The staff on the information desk were helpful when we bought our passes for culture night. The views of the canal through the huge windows were nice.

We stumbled upon this building while exploring the by-lanes of Copenhagen. The courtyard is a very quiet and peaceful place to sit and relax or read a book. Many locals were seen riding their bicycles in this building (just like they do everywhere in Copenhagen!) The fountain and duck pond in the courtyard is also a nice feature. Since it... More

The library part of the building is something that we really were not sure how to navigate through, but it was still nice to see. There are small exhibits of cartoon drawings on the upper floor that were interesting. The cafe in the library was really, really good. There is quite a bit of seating and very yummy things to... This library was a wonderful experience! The huge modern glass constructions combine beautifully with the old building and, when you climb upstairs, you have a wonderful view to the canal through the huge glass walls. How I wished to be a young student again and have the privilege of doing research here! The library organizes regular public events, and I... More

It is a jewel of beauty in the walkink in central Copenhagen. I say so because the front is an older 19th century building which is , beautiful with fountain flowers and bushes climbing the old walls yet at the exit you can see an amazing architecture combining old and modern (Black Diamond) beautifully matched together. Copenhagen has a magnificent... More
