This is definitely a place you want to visit after seeing all those usual fancy churches and cathedrals with luxurious embellishments. It is simple and, in a sense, chic and its design just screams Danish to me. I have no words to describe how beautiful an unique it is. All I can say is that it gave me chills when... More

Really strange place (in good way). From the outside reminds a barracks clustered around the fortress. Interesting architecture but unfortunately it was closed during our visit and we could not see the interior, which we wanted to see the most.

Grundtvig Church is a very unique combination of brick gothic and modern expressionism. Designed by Peder Vilhelm Jensen-Klint during the early 1900s, the church is a monumental memorial to the Danish priest, educator and hymn writer N.F.S. Grundtvig. We found our visit to Grundtvig Church very interesting and enlightening. Worth a visit & easily accessed by bus from central Copenhagen.

The Church is an impressive site as it stands out from the other traditional building which are in the area. Very gothic style with a very strong presence. A must to see if you love architecture and design. Indeed an important example of expressionist art.

The Grundtvig's Church was designed as a monument to the great clergyman and writer of psalms Grundtvig by the architect Jensen-Klint in 1924 and completed by his son Kaare Klint in 1936. Built entirely of bricks( 6 Millions) in the gothic style like an organ when seen from outside, it is a masterpiece of Danish design.

We visited this church after reading about it on the Visit Copenhagen website and we were not disappointed. It was an easy journey north on the 6A bus. The church is very beautiful in its simplicity and has a peaceful and spiritual atmosphere. When the organ started playing it became even more magical!

I was with my girlfriend, with the bikes in copenhagen and we decided to visit the Grundtvig Church. It's a very special place that I recommed to see. Best if you go by bike (it's 10 min far away of the center), after the tour, streets and views are very nice.

Easy bus ride from inner city (around 10-15 minutes), so this is worth a visit especially if you plan to visit Rosenborg Castle, the bus passes and stops there. Its possible to do this in around 1 or 1.30 hour. Its really a beautiful and unique structure. Its big but I personally think it lacking in finer details compared to... More
