The National Museum of Denmark is the largest culture-historical museum in Denmark. The museum is a dynamic cultural institution offering a great variety of exhibitions and activities. Our artefacts come from all over the world and from different time periods. We can take you on a journey, traveling thousands of years through time and experience everything from the Danish national treasure the Golden Horns and the 3000 year old Egtved Girl to African masks and Egyptian mummies. In the Children's Museum, you can see and try things that show how people ate, worked, played and dressed hundreds of years ago in different environments.

The National Museum of Denmark was absolutely amazing, and without any doubt one of the best in its kind. The place is huge (you'll need at least a full day to see everything), but thanks to the great set-up, very easy to navigate without missing...More

If you have the chance for a free guided tour, I would strongly suggest that. We covered the museum much faster and learned more about the history then we could have done alone!

This is a wonderful museum, I thoroughly enjoyed the different exhibitions. It is laid out well, everything is in chronological order and it is, as expected, very informative.

It seemed quite a new museum with what seemed like a National Trust house at its centre. It took us through the changes in Denmark from one century to another. The latest guide book says it is free of charge, but, it is not. There...More

A large museum, perhaps too large to fully cover it in one visit! I liked the prehistoric part and the section on danish middle ages & renaissance and also the arctic ethnographical stuff. Looking back, I would next time skip the "peoples of the earth"...More

My wife & I found this museum to be excellent. We especially liked the Danish pre-historic and the Middle Ages sections; they were fascinating. The exhibits were chronological and well illustrated and explained. This was one of the better and more informative National Museums we...More

Mostly traditional but in certain areas the renewed setup takes you time travelling through the stone- and bronze ages of ancient Denmark, from way before anybody ever thought of a Denmark. Meet the mumified girl who was laid to rest in a moor, the animals...More

This is the heart of old town Copenhagen, with its
blend of charming old buildings and bold new
architecture, broad avenues and tiny streets as well
as picturesque canals and a modern harbor. The inner
city is home to the Royal Danish Theatre, which
consists of three buildings, two of which are new and
situated on the harbor front. The streets, squares and

At the National Museum of Denmark, DSLR cameras are allowed without mono- and tripods. Be aware that flash is permitted as long as it doesn't bother the other museum guests. Kind regards
