Address
Neighbourhood: Indre By (Inner City)
This is the heart of old town Copenhagen, with its blend of charming old buildings and bold new architecture, broad avenues and tiny streets as well as picturesque canals and a modern harbor. The inner city is home to the Royal Danish Theatre, which consists of three buildings, two of which are new and situated on the harbor front. The streets, squares and venues of the inner city and its surrounding neighborhoods, are alive all year round with everything from jazz festivals to outdoor ice skating rinks and parachuting at the lakes right in the center of the city. This compact area boasts beautiful old castles, tranquil parks, and bustling squares where you can always find a bench to stretch out your legs whenever you need a break.

    Religious opulence at its finest.
I only popped in for a moment as it was incredibly busy. The morning service had just finished and a lot of tourists were eager to get in to snap some pics (myself included). It was nice, and if you haven't seen anything like it before, then the interior will blow you away!

    Beautiful 18 c Rococo Church
Frederick's Church is set in the very center of CPH, 3 min walk from the Amalienborg Royal Palace. It's also called Marmorkirken (Marble Church) and is easily accessed via metro line stopping at the same name station, just in front of it. It's a very elegant 18 c circular Church in decorative Rococo style with the biggest Dome in all Scandinavia and one of the biggest in Europe. Free entry to see lavish marble interiors.

An imposing and beautiful church of marble and gold near Amalienborg Palace.
The church is free to enter, but may occasionally be closed for services and concerts. Visitors are asked to be respectful and quiet, as befits a place of worship. The church is free to enter, but there is a fee to climb the dome. The interior of the dome has images of the various apostles all around it. It is a peaceful place and if you are near Amalienborg it is well worth visiting.

    Amazing dome
When wandering around the city, this is sort of a hidden-in-plain-sight gem. It's like the Pantheon (without an oculus), so when you walk in, your mind is blown by the enormous dome. It was quite stunning and just the single space, no anterooms or side chapels, etc. A beautiful, quick stop.

    Breathtaking Church
It literally took my breath away. I was walking up the street, heading to Amalienborg, and on my left side, seemingly out of nowhere, this colossal church appeared. Ornate and domed like something out of Rome, but I assure you 100% Danish in character (even a statue of Kierkegaard outside). I unfortunately never got the chance to see the inside, and I fear that will be something I regret for sometime, but the outside has made enough of an impression on me that I needed to write this review.

    Impressive domed cathedral
The church has an interesting history. Although building commenced in the mid-18th century, construction was abandoned for any years where it stood as a ruin before work started again towards the end of the 19th century, finally being completed in 1894. The dome is the largest in Scandinavia. Design is different to most religious buildings in that there are no side annexes. It is literally one round building and its construction in stone gives it look quite like a Greek Parthenon. Worth a visit if only to view the scale of the dome from the inside.

A spectacular church adjacent to Amalienborg Palace
A beautiful, round church (also known as the Marble Church) which was constructed over a long period beginning in the 1750s and not completed until 1894. It is quite opulent with a gorgeous domed ceiling. Entrance is free but access is restricted on Friday and Sunday mornings. Tours of the dome are available Saturdays and Sundays at 1:00pm for 50DKK.

It's a lovely cathedral. Nice and compact and offers a real peace and power within the city. The oval structure and the sense of real pristine detail makes it special and almost intimidating to be in. Terrific.

    Beautiful church.
Remarkably beautiful. We attended service on Sunday. The service was pretty dull. The pastor just read from a script. But when you consider where you are, that makes it more impressive. We left the church and walked into a celebration of the prince Christian’s 18th birthday. I would recommend viewing the church for sure.

Frederiks Kirke (outside) - Short review
Can only speak about the outside, and it's an impressive building.... If it's as impressive as that inside, it probably is worth the visit. Definitely something you should add to your itinerary, it can be done together with Amalienborg... It's quite literally across the street. And not too far from the central station.

It is an outstanding church built in the Rococo style, located next to Amalienborg. The architectural structure is stunning. A visit won't take much of your time, and entry is free. I highly recommend adding it to your list of places to visit.

The Frederiks Kirke is easily one of the highlights of Copenhagen and when stood in the Amalienborg it provides a beautiful background.

Fredrik’s Church, also known as The Marble Church, is a stunning building with a massive dome and well worth visiting. The exterior is perhaps more magnificent than the interior.

This is a really beautiful church that is just as beautiful on the inside as it is on the outside. It is possible to climb the dome but only at certain times on certain days and was not possible when we visited. Well worth a visit, regardless.

Nich church with a pretty impressive dome, the tallest of Scandinavia. A lot of marble is being used in the church. Apparently you can also visit/climb the dome in the summer period, but not when we visited it.

Beautiful church. Ideal for a quick visit.
Unfortunately could not visit the top of the dome as nobody was there to tend to tourists.
But well worth a visit as the biggest dome in Scandinavia.

Impressive interior with domed ceiling. View it from various angles from around the perimeter. Nice organ too, note the swans by the pipes.

Unfortunately the church was closed when we visited, so we were only able to admire it from the outside - but it’s an impreeeive piece of architecture and it’s well worth dropping by to take a look if you’re in the area.
