Refreshing

As a Brit it was really refreshing to see a church with a style differing from the Roman. Make sure you have a good look at the frescos!

A great example of old Danish churches. Not the most spectacular church on Moen island, however it is the most convenient to visit if you're staying/passing through Stege. Open long hours too.

Nice frescoes and clean interiors make this church worth visiting. It's pretty nice by end of day when the sunlight gets through the windows.

The interior in the church is fairly simple. Huge and light church room. Not very much to see but nevertheless worth a visit.

Interesting architecture with ornate pulpit and altar. The paintings on the ceiling were interesting to notice and photograph. This church is still used today and is worth a visit.

A nice church to visit if in the area but not one to travel out of your way to see. Frescoes inside are one of its better features. Plenty of parking and no entry fee but information on its history is limited.

Steve is a rather dull market town but the church is a must see with its medieval frescoes. The church is open and free and there is a guide in English.

Nice brick church built in Romanesque style in the start of 13th century. The inside is white with a lot of frescos painted on the walls and the ceiling.

A large solid brick building that is surprisingly light and airy inside, as it all white. The altar window (1990) is sympathetic to the space. Pamphlets about the church are available in 3 languages (20kr)- a bonus as it helps to appreciate just how old it is, and how it has changed and kept up to date.
