Welcome to the Tinderbox. The big Fairytale Land is right now build up around The Little Mermaid. Here you can enter into a magic world at the bottom of the sea, where you can visit the Sea King's castle and sit in his throne or have tea in the mermaids' parlor. You can also explore the Prince's sunken ship or even brew a wicked potion in the Sea Witch's den. In our Magic Wardrobe you will find costumes for children, as well as for the adults. We look forward to welcoming you to the Tinderbox.

I remember loving coming to this place when i was a child and loving it. It's definitely a place you have to take your kids. It's a perfect place, where you can dress up and play. There is beautiful theatre setups, so your kids can tell a story. I have had big succes taking my younger siblings here too. So... More

A great place for young kids. Plenty of costumes to put on, rooms with different themes and space to run around. My kids loved getting their face painted and painting in the brilliant arts and crafts workshop. Highly recommended as a 3-4 hours activity.

Really nice place where children can dress up with lots of costumes, play in fairy theatre setups or smaller corners where they can pretend to be writers, sailors, shopkeepers etc. Many items are there for the children's imagination to roam free. Staff are very friendly and we took part in a brief workshop where different children (some of which spoke... More

Children are normaly not very interresting in Museums but if you combine the visist with H.C. Andersens home I am sure it will pass. Childrens can spend hoers drssing in princess gowns or solders uniforms. Selling Ice cream or serving coffee or preparing food

What a nice place to visit with children. They can dress up, face paint, use bracelets, etc. Knight, Princess, rat, chicken, service maid, etc The imagination goes into overdrive! Also grown ups can dress up... Have fun!!! Only downside... Your children will not want to go home! 😀😀😀

All activities requires kids to be actively participating in experiencing the fairytales, life and art of Hans Christian Andersen. The art workshop was really enjoyable and with competent guidance. There is a chance to dress up in beautifully designed costumes and act our fairy tales and your own imaginary stories, which makes the place a definite hit for little kids.... More

Ideally aimed at under 11's there is opportunity to enjoy Hans Christian Andersen's stories (the one they were focussing on during my visit was 'The Steadfast Tin Soldier') and then role play the story as well as adapt it and create your own. There's a craft room where children have access to a wide range of materials and craft tools.... More

What a shame. 14 euro you have to pay for adults. It is quit small and not much to do. Some rooms and kids can change cloths but for this price we rather do something else.

It's essentially a workshop for kids. Not at first sight very fancy, but there's storytelling, you can dress-up as a pirate or a mermaid (amongst others), you can play with clay or paint your own Pictures and much more. Essentially be creative in almost every fashion. Also extremely cheap lunch there in ok quality. I love comming there with my... More
