The landscape is fantastic the houses are almost all in an 1800 style and they are beautiful! Recommend going if you have the time. Can be fun for danish people as a weekend trip.

We rented bikes and enjoyed a fantastic tour of the island. What a pleasure to bike three meters away to the sea, surrounded by wheat fields. The villages are small and charming. We were also lucky to have a sunny day. What a great experience.

In the middle of a Rick Steves tour of Scandinavia, we had a two night stop in the delightful village of Aeroskobling on Aero Island teached by a 1.5 hour ferry ride from the mainland. The island and town warrant a longer stay, but the...More

My wife and I took the ferry to Aero and enjoyed the entire experience. First, ordering tickets online from the States was easy and worked like a charm. Second, the boarding process was quick and easy (we drove our rental car). Third, the actual trip...More

Great cycle routes, well signed and they have a really good new map at the tourist office. Beautiful landscapes, fantastic Ærø beer. We rent bikes at Pilebækens, I don't recommend, one bike was not in good condition and the tenant not very friendly.

Crazy fun! So beautiful. The ferry ride is nice and relaxing. The island itself has many towns to walk around. And a golf course on the north side! So nice!

A great place to visit or get married. Danish island weddings is the best place to get married and/or rent lodging from. They have a beautiful loft apartment for reasonable rates.

We caught the ferry in Copenhagen, but I was on a tour and it was all arranged. There seem to be frequest ferries and yes there are cars. Our bus went on the ferry, too.

Svendborg is a pleasant port town but I would spend as much time on Aero as possible. Aeroskoebing is a splendid little town with lots of old world charm and good, reasonably priced restaurants. To really appreciate the... More
