This was our first time sailing in Greece, the yacht sailed well, we seldom reef, however we were happy the one time to have lines leading aft and easy to take in sail. The windlass worked flawlessly, and was very useful for med mooring., which we did often preferring to dock in town centers. The staff were very helpful, going into warrior mode, moving boats aside for our unexpected day earlier arrival. Advice was tight and spot on for boat operation & locations to sail. We were able to keep our schedule with friends in Athens, and hope to return each year.

We had a fantastic trip for my husbands birthday, it was the first time either of us had sailed so we did our RYA Competent Crew certificate with Piero and loved every minute of it. As complete novices Greek Sails put our minds at ease and were organised from start (answering all my questions via email) to finish (our recorded delivery certificates arrived the day after we got back to the UK!), Poros is a gorgeous little island and we sailed round the mainland and islands close by which was absolutely stunning. Not only was Piero a great teacher but he had a passion for the location as well giving us tips and information for each place we visited making our whole experience even more enjoyable than we were expecting. We can't wait to sail again and would love it to be with Greek Sails!

This is the second year we came along for a yacht charter and, as usual it was a fantastic experience!

We were out in September and felt completely safe with regards to the handling of the Covid situation from Greek Sails.
Poros had an outbreak earlier in the summer, but is now at the same level as surrounding islands.
The rules have somewhat (for example no visitors on the yacht and you have to take your temperature and sats daily, but Greek sails provided the thermometer and Sats probe.)
The yacht was very clean, sheets in packaging and the team made us feel very welcome!

Cannot recommend enough, till next year!!

Many thanks for your kind review. It's always good to know people enjoyed their time with us although COVID has most definitely been challenging for us all. We can but hope that we are now starting to see light at the end of the tunnel and that life will slowly be able to return to normal. We look forward to welcoming you back to Poros another time and thanks again for your review. Form all the Greek Sails team

We had an excellent week on the Flotilla starting in Poros. A Covid proof holiday. Service and hospitality of the Greek Sails Team was outstanding. Our beautiful ship nice and clean and in good "shape". The route and program brought us to scenic spots in the Argolic Gulf. Our skipper was super and a good instructor. A trip to remember and repeat.

I had an unexpected week off with my twelve year old son and we decided to try a competent crew sailing class because he has been sailing dinghys.

Greek sails replied to my emails quickly and with detailed emails confirming that competent crew was the right choice. Email communication was better than the other companies.

We booked the flights separately but Greek Sails arranged the transfer from Athens (this was a good deal as it removed any stress once we landed).

We had a fun week. Greek Sails were organized and friendly. The yacht was in very good condition and our instructor (Marcus) was great at teaching the material and gave us a detailed briefing about each place we stopped.

Having a 12 year old on the competent crew class was probably more challenging than a usual class as Max is keen but not as strong as an adult and obviously doesn't have as much life experience. Marcus was great though and really worked out how to work with both of us. It was an inspiring experience for MAx.

A fun holiday.

We also had another person on our yacht taking the Coastal Skipper class. That worked out very well as we could see (and learn!) some of the more advanced material. It gave me a chance to see what taking the Day Skipper class would be like.

Greek Sails exceeded my expectations. I am looking foward to another class with them when I get a chance.

The sailing territory around Poros is great. Good wind, friendly people, and harbors still retaining a local atmosphere.

The first week I did a RYA costal skipper training and license on board a nice 43 ft yacht. The teacher was very knowledgeable and professional. Thereafter I participated in the annual Round Poros Regatta organized by Greek Sails, which was excellent fun! It is a very family like atmosphere that makes one feel at home right away. Many long term customers (some for 20 years) returning for this event and get together to compete and celebrate.

All boats of Greek Sails are very well looked after and in great condition! Things are organized well, the staff is super friendly and will help you with your travel arrangements, if need be.

You can be sure to be in good hands coming here to enjoy your sailing adventure - no matter if you are renting a boat as a skipper, or participating as crew and learn how to sail.

Although I have been sailing for 60 years (which makes me OLD!) I had never done the flotilla thing. A colleague suggested that I would find it too regimented and a bit dull.
Not so.
The lead crew were very thorough with their daily briefing, laying down the law regarding a latest arrival time at the day's destination, but otherwise we had plenty of freedom to sail at our own pace and anchor along the way for a swim.
Having the lead crew quay-side to guide us in at the end of day took all the stress out of finding somewhere to moor in crowded and small harbors.
Their good humour and patience with some of the less experienced crews made sure everyone had a good time and no boats were hurt in the process.
Socially, we met interesting people that we would probably would not meet in a bareboat situation. This made for better times ashore, sharing many a good meal in excellent tavernas along the way.
The boats were clean, well maintained and suitably-equipped for the task, with all necessary gear, right down to the mandatory two pencils in the chart table!
Before this trip my wife was an avowed non-sailor. She was 'turned' by this good experience to the extent that she would happily do it next year - with only one proviso - she wants a bigger boat next time!
If we do make it next year, we will certainly charter from Greek Sails again.

I came to Greek Sails to do a Coastal Skipper course and then chartered a yacht the following week.
All I can say is it's been a fantastic and overwhelmingly positive experience!
The school is based in Poros, which is an Island close to Athens (roughly 1hr10 mins with a ferry from Piraeus) and was easy to find (although be warned it's quite a long walk from the arrival in Poros to the school, about 15mins)
The teaching week was fantastic and I can't recommend Marcus enough. He was knowledgeable, professional and I learned more in those 5 days than in all my previous courses combined.
The charter was also excellent, the school was able to kindly accommodate a last minute change of plans and the yacht was in really good condition for a 2011 charter.
All in all a great experience! Will come again and highly recommend.
Ciao from Alberto.

Thank you Alberto and it's great to hear you had a great experience. Thank you too for your comments about Marcus. Maybe we can welcome you back to Poros on another occasion? BTW, from where the ferry drops you to the yachts is 900m, or 0.5 miles, so should take you 8-10 mins to walk. You can measure it on Google maps :-) Sorry if it seemed such a long way. It's a nice walk along the quayside though.

From the moment we booked our flotilla until the end everyone at Greek Sails did their utmost to ensure we had and wonderful and safe holiday. Ellie and Connor were a wonderful lead crew and made sure everyone had lots of fun with their easy going ways and tips on the best places to drop anchor for lunch or a relaxing swim. We will definitely be back at Poros with Greek Sails.
