Friendly and helping staff, relatively small but beautifull collection. This museum was fun to visit, we expected to spend a lot of time here, but the relatively small museum was a nice relaxing visit.

We came all the way to Sparta to visit this museum but found a sign on the door stating that it was closed due to a strike. For such a long journey, this was devastating.

It was a medium sized museum and had some interesting finds. They had a room of mosaics, which were neat.

Very poor museum compared to the history of the area. The building is very old and unsuitable for the wealth if keeps. Presentation is old fashioned to say the least.

I think the museum has a statue, but I am not sure if so, or where it is. There is a life-size statue of Lycurgus on Odos Lycurgus [the road leading to Mistra] in front of the cathedral, & facing the Lida/Dioskouri hotels... More
