A roman arch over the Egnatia road (the new Egnatia is passing just 5 meters further It is the meeting point of the students in town and often a starting point of political congregations There is an urban legend that if bride passed underneath with the wedding dress she may have a macabre end. When I was a student of... More

The first thing you get to know when you are visiting Thessaloniki is this. Where is the meeting point? By the arch of course. Loved how tourists were taking photos there all day long and locals were waiting for their friends, dates, parents. I think this is the sumbol to remind you that you are a breath away from the... If you are on your way to The Rotunda then you will pass this arch and it is great for a Photo Opportunity but very little information provided on this arch on site. Might be worth googling information on the Arch before your visit!

Not so much a destination in itself as much as the place all roads lead, "Camara" is well worth seeing. This is where everyome would meet up before a night out, pre-cellphone. Part of the Galerian complex, it's right on the way the Rotonda

Right in the center,on the main street of Thessaloniki called Egnatia street, close to Rotunda, in a very nice area with cafes and lots of shops! Very lively spot day and night, definetely worth admiring it while resting at a cafe closeby!

In the heart of the city. The place is not clean and looks neglected. No explanations about the place. They could do better than that.

The arch is part of a complex of excavations and reconstructions that starts at the Rotunda and heads to the coast. The carvings on the arch are very impressive although I'm not sure how they will cope with the pollution from the multi lane roads that pass next to it. It's not a quiet and reflective place - the arch... More

the Arch, like a historical piece, is not an ussual. is nice but not great. But the entire area where is the arch, is great. Nice, alive, food, tavernas, tapas, beer, young nice people, art, handycrafts, beautifull churches, ruines,....a lot of nice things which capture your attention, definetely a zone where is good to stand and feel alive

A beautiful arch surrounded by a bustling city, its quite amazing to think its been standing there for so many years and the higher carvings still retain a lot of detail. Go see it on your way to the Rotunda.
