A cave on the island of Meganissi whose historical significance (associated with a Greek submarine that hid there during WWII) is disputed, but the trip to it is worthwhile - offered by medium-sized cruise ships from Lefkada and some neighboring islands.

This was included as part of the cruise we took on the Makedonian Palace Cruise Ship. It’s worth a visit

It’s a nice cave and easily accessible, which means it get crowded. Get the photo and get out back to a nice bay for a swim.

there are always boats going into this cave and some big boats. But you do need a boat to get to it. Not much else to say about it

Went on a day trip from Nidri. Had a lovely swim in the ocean and diving off of the ship we were on. Seems to get very busy though as it's a very popular tourist destination for the local day cruise companies.

Great stories about the WWII submarine that hid in this cave. You can just imagine how it crept up into the cave to avoid discovery. Highly recommend you see it!

You can only get here by boat. It is impressive, but not the only thing to see when on cruise. The interesting thing is the story about this Cave. The name came from the submarine that was underneath the water in WWII and that struck...More

This cave is very interesting, being formed at the contact with the water sea. I have visited only the entrance during a cruise into the Ionian Sea, but the history related with the cave is exciting.
