Since the earthquake in Nov 2015 the road to this beach is kinda extreme. Driving in a very narrow road may scare some people but the action is totally worth it when you get down to the sandy shore. Awesome biiig sandy beach with crystal blue water.

Beautiful pebble beach and turquoise water. Difficult access by car as the road is in bad condition, narrow, steep, and curvy. Also difficult by foot (it's long and steep!) There is a small kiosk once you arrive, serving cold beers, fresh fruit smoothies, and snacks. Bring your own umbrella, sunbed, and beach/water shoes. Not much to see for snorkelers.

Visited 24/9/16... as road been re-opened for last weeks of the summer season. Either take road before Athani village or opposite Johnny's Eatery at far end of village and follow out through the olive groves towards the cliffs where these two roads join to then descend to the beach. The 'Road closed' sign has been crossed out and you proceed... More

A truly beautiful place but with a rather hard road to do. They seem to be clearing the road right now but it is not impossible to do. I drove there with a hatchback. It is very steep and narrow but truly interesting. The beach is sand but not very fine. The water is great and that special blue colour.... More

I've visited the Gialos Beach on the 18.08.2016 and I must say ot was the most beautiful beach I've ever seen in Lefkada. Crystal water, silence, sunchair and sunumbrella if you want to rent but is plenty of space for your towel. There are 2 terace on the beach from where you can buy something to dring or to eat... this beach is just amazing! it is a long sandy beach, with a great view on the cliffs and on the sunset. it is still not crowded with turists (i guess as a result of the earthquake and the road conditions), so the atmosphere is calm and peaceful, and you get the feeling to be in a still unspoilt place... The beach is very long, with colors the same as Egremni and Porto Katsiki... Why this particular beach is better then the two is that on 5 km beach there are like 100 people all together. Would recommend it to everyone who wants to spend a chilled, relaxed day on a beach with perhaps a partner.

It is officially closed. Although people are going to the beach by car (it is deffinately possible but not recommended) we didn't want to risk so we went by foot. It took us about an hour to get to the beach...it is very steep but it wasn't too hard. We went there around 6 in the morning so it wasn't... More

Indeed, the road is destroyed by earthquake - and there are no signs indicating that. However, we decided to come back after arriving to the dead end to walk the way to the beach. It is not a very challenging hike, 2.4 kilometres of moderate to steep incline. Needless to say, the trek up is harder than way down, so... More
