About
Surrounded by tall marble cliffs and looking out onto the azure waters of the Myrtos Gulf, this stunning beach makes for a dramatically breathtaking sight. A steep and winding stretch of road will take you there—stop on your way to admire the view and catch the pink and orange hues at sunset on your way back. Get in early to secure both a place to park and a prime spot on the sand; the water tends to be at its calmest in the morning too. There are changing rooms and toilet facilities, a beach bar, and a few sunbeds and umbrellas you can rent. – Tripadvisor

Short visit but definarely worth it as a point of interest if you are driving.
Absolutely stunning beach, pure white pebbles creating a spectacular array of colours of the sea. Well worth the visit just to see it. When we went swimming was not possible due to the waves but it was still very busy. Be prepared for limited parking even though the parking area along the beach is big, and very narrow and windy road down.

    Fabulous Beach
Stunning beach. We went early, arrived at about 10am and parking was fine. Got ourselves a couple of beds and a shade and stayed there all day. The sea is warm (July). There is a beach bar at the back of the beach and also toilets and showers.

Lovely day at this beautifully located beach.
Anyone visiting Myrtos Beach in July and expecting it not to be busy has some seriously unrealistic expectations I would suggest. Yes, the beach was busy but to be honest I've seen more packed beaches in the UK at the first sign of sun. I can also see that if you drive down it is perhaps quite stressful given the hairpin bends and amount of cars but this is not the beach's fault. We took a taxi from Fiskardo, which cost 45 Euros each way and took approx 40 minutes. The beach is in a beautiful location. It is a shingle beach, so beach shoes were useful. The sea was blue, clean and clear. There were plenty of sunbeds, which were very reasonable at 10 Euros for 2 plus a parasol. The beach cafe was clean, well stocked with drinks and snacks and we didn't experience (or see) any long queues. Toilets are of the portaloo type but again were clean and stocked with toilet paper. Perhaps previous reviewers had a particularly bad experience but it was certainly not ours, we had a lovely day. The earlier you arrive, the quieter it is.

    Stunning views, great beach!
Great beach with stunning views! Sea was nice and warm too. We went at 5pm and although it was still very hot, it wasn’t too busy. The roads are tight to get up and down there so if you are not a confident driver be warned! Some great views on the drive otherwise. There are changing and WC facilities down there which are free to use which is handy too. Definitely worth a visit if you are in kefalonia.

    Nice but not the first
According to most it is the most beautiful beach in Kefalonia and one of the best in Greece. In fact the water has beautiful colors typical of the Mediterranean sea but in my opinion it comes after Petani beach. There is a choice between a free or equipped beach, the prices are modest, in line with those of Kefalonia, between 10 and 15 euros for an umbrella and 2 sunbeds. Like many beaches on the island it’s made of pebbles.

    A beach not to miss.
This is definitely a beach worth adding to your itinerary. I would recommend going early if you are driving as parking is limited. I arrived at 10.30 and there was plenty of spaces. The drive down is long, with air pin bends but don’t let this put you off. The road is in good condition and as I’ve noticed most locals are patient with holiday drivers. When you get down there the beach is your reward. Shingles beach, the best thing I packed was beach shoes. There are clean toilets, parking is free. There is a bar serving cold/ hot food, reasonably priced. Probably one of the best beaches I visited, if not the best.

The most beautiful beach in kefalonia
An amazing beach, well worth the hair raising drive down! Parking is a bit tricky but it’s so stunning, it’s not to be missed. A beach bar and sun beds and showers are available. A fantastic day out!

    Excellent beach, scarce facilities
Named in top 10 world beaches by many magazines and agencies, Myrtos certainly deserves it. Dramatic setting between two huge cliffs with gel like aqua marine water is best seen from the road view point up. Zig zag paved road (10 y ago it was gravel road) takes you down there, so no problem to access it. Once down, parking is the biggest problem - we circled almost half an hour to get a spot (parking is free). Beach is long and wide, so despite huge number of people in July peak season it didn't seem crowded. Water is movie like, simply gorgeous. However, there's only one establishment selling food and drinks and renting sunbeds. Lines are huge and food junk with inflated prices (ordinary bakery stuff, didn't see nothing below 5 euros a piece). We stayed some 2,5-3 hours and moved to Antisamos beach which has much more facilities.

    Caribbean Blue in Kefalonia
The road to the beach is in good condition, practicable by any car, and the scenery wonderful. The car park is full after 10 o'clock. There is a beach bar, and the sunbed fee is 10 Euro, but there is enough space and privacy for your own umbrellas. The water is an unreal blue, the scenery dramatic, and a lot of powerful big waves. The entrance to the sea is steep, and the currents quite strong.

Stunning beach - well worth a visit!
Beautiful beach with aquamarine blue sea. Best to arrive early to get a sun-bed and good parking spot. Sea was lovely to swim in but waves powerful and slopes away steeply. Not very suitable for small kids. Would definitely recommend visiting but arrive early!!

Absolutely stunning, we didn’t drive down to it as hire car would never have made it up winding hills again! It can also have some dangerous currents from what we heard.

Beautiful view. Postal perfect picture but nothing more. Don’t expect to be able to get in the water if you have kids. Extremely strong waves and dangerous for anyone who is not experienced. White pebbles. Bring water shoes otherwise it will be difficult to walk around.
No facilities available. No shade or umbrellas. Bring your own.

No facilities except life guards. Unusual given that quieter beaches have food and drinks to buy and sunlounges to hire.

The views from above are incredible and well worth a look, the beach is lovely but it is much more comfortable on Antisamos in my opinion.

Stunning beach, with spectacular views
Although a tad cold when we were there, clear sea. Enjoyable few hours. Could do with a little café/beach bar although did look like there is one maybe bit too early in season. Drive down fabulous views, we even passed a heard of goats on route

Myris beach is stunning, from above. That's why they take all those amazing photos from there.
The beach's is still just a (very stoney) beach. We went as part of a 3 sight excursion and we were able to drive all the way down the very twisty road to the beach itself. We arrived just after lunchtime and already there were a lot of cars parked. Our (Greek) driver and guide was very annoyed that, despite it being late May, no beach facilities were open and he felt he had let us down. No bar or cafe open, no toilets open save one single gents toilet, no loungers or parasols. No doubt these will be available later on in the year but until then you will need to bring your own food water, and some shade with you. Beach is very pebbley and gritty so walking can be difficult, beach shoes are a must and under the water underfoot is still treacherous. Water clear, ideal for snorking but nothing to see as nothing grows amongst the grit and pebbles. Without the bar or loungers a couple of hours at the most. Really not worth the effort but you do get a lovely photo on your way out.

A beautiful beach, which is relaxing. The sea was fairly choppy and no one was in it, which I was told is usual for Mytros Beach. I managed to have a quick swim, but came straight back in due to the strong undercurrent and I am a strong swimmer, so please be weary of it.

There is a cafe, toilets and a lifeguard on duty at the beach.

You are no longer allowed to go into the cave at the fair end of the beach, due to falling rocks.

There are view points of the beach up at the top of the cliff, at both sides, which provide a fantastic view of the beach.

100% recommend, such a beautiful beach!

This beach is beautiful. The water is crystal clear and when we were there, the water was warm. You must have water shoes because the beach is very rocky. Also, they do have beach chairs but not many. Also there is a little cafe you can get something to eat and drink, and they have bathrooms and shower.

Beautiful pebble beach with clear blue water and a small cave for exploring. Cafe and snack bar on site plus umbrellas and seats for a slight fee.
