About
Surrounded by tall marble cliffs and looking out onto the azure waters of the Myrtos Gulf, this stunning beach makes for a dramatically breathtaking sight. A steep and winding stretch of road will take you there—stop on your way to admire the view and catch the pink and orange hues at sunset on your way back. Get in early to secure both a place to park and a prime spot on the sand; the water tends to be at its calmest in the morning too. There are changing rooms and toilet facilities, a beach bar, and a few sunbeds and umbrellas you can rent. – Tripadvisor

Spectacular views but take appropriate footwear…
We went in may when the beach wasn’t busy and nor was the road in…I imagine it could be different in the peak season. Steep descent down…but the road better than many others we have done this week. Lots of (free) parking. Stunning views. Crystal clear water and a great cave off at the far end (south). Toilets weren’t open though yet (just a dodgy portaloo) and although it looks like there will be a bar, not open yet. Can imagine it would be an amazing spot to watch sun go down. Main recommendation is to take good beach footwear…the stories about the pebbles are true. Have to confess I was crawling out of the sea on all fours.

Great looking beach. Little hard to park in high season. Go with sea shoes or with a boat.
Great extra large with white pebbles beach. Really beautiful colour of the water. Scenery is amazing. Not great to walk on the pebbles though. Also a bit hard to park in high season.

Short visit but definarely worth it as a point of interest if you are driving.
Absolutely stunning beach, pure white pebbles creating a spectacular array of colours of the sea. Well worth the visit just to see it. When we went swimming was not possible due to the waves but it was still very busy. Be prepared for limited parking even though the parking area along the beach is big, and very narrow and windy road down.

    Fabulous Beach
Stunning beach. We went early, arrived at about 10am and parking was fine. Got ourselves a couple of beds and a shade and stayed there all day. The sea is warm (July). There is a beach bar at the back of the beach and also toilets and showers.

Lovely day at this beautifully located beach.
Anyone visiting Myrtos Beach in July and expecting it not to be busy has some seriously unrealistic expectations I would suggest. Yes, the beach was busy but to be honest I've seen more packed beaches in the UK at the first sign of sun. I can also see that if you drive down it is perhaps quite stressful given the hairpin bends and amount of cars but this is not the beach's fault. We took a taxi from Fiskardo, which cost 45 Euros each way and took approx 40 minutes. The beach is in a beautiful location. It is a shingle beach, so beach shoes were useful. The sea was blue, clean and clear. There were plenty of sunbeds, which were very reasonable at 10 Euros for 2 plus a parasol. The beach cafe was clean, well stocked with drinks and snacks and we didn't experience (or see) any long queues. Toilets are of the portaloo type but again were clean and stocked with toilet paper. Perhaps previous reviewers had a particularly bad experience but it was certainly not ours, we had a lovely day. The earlier you arrive, the quieter it is.

    Stunning views, great beach!
Great beach with stunning views! Sea was nice and warm too. We went at 5pm and although it was still very hot, it wasn’t too busy. The roads are tight to get up and down there so if you are not a confident driver be warned! Some great views on the drive otherwise. There are changing and WC facilities down there which are free to use which is handy too. Definitely worth a visit if you are in kefalonia.

    Nice but not the first
According to most it is the most beautiful beach in Kefalonia and one of the best in Greece. In fact the water has beautiful colors typical of the Mediterranean sea but in my opinion it comes after Petani beach. There is a choice between a free or equipped beach, the prices are modest, in line with those of Kefalonia, between 10 and 15 euros for an umbrella and 2 sunbeds. Like many beaches on the island it’s made of pebbles.

    A beach not to miss.
This is definitely a beach worth adding to your itinerary. I would recommend going early if you are driving as parking is limited. I arrived at 10.30 and there was plenty of spaces. The drive down is long, with air pin bends but don’t let this put you off. The road is in good condition and as I’ve noticed most locals are patient with holiday drivers. When you get down there the beach is your reward. Shingles beach, the best thing I packed was beach shoes. There are clean toilets, parking is free. There is a bar serving cold/ hot food, reasonably priced. Probably one of the best beaches I visited, if not the best.

The most beautiful beach in kefalonia
An amazing beach, well worth the hair raising drive down! Parking is a bit tricky but it’s so stunning, it’s not to be missed. A beach bar and sun beds and showers are available. A fantastic day out!

    Excellent beach, scarce facilities
Named in top 10 world beaches by many magazines and agencies, Myrtos certainly deserves it. Dramatic setting between two huge cliffs with gel like aqua marine water is best seen from the road view point up. Zig zag paved road (10 y ago it was gravel road) takes you down there, so no problem to access it. Once down, parking is the biggest problem - we circled almost half an hour to get a spot (parking is free). Beach is long and wide, so despite huge number of people in July peak season it didn't seem crowded. Water is movie like, simply gorgeous. However, there's only one establishment selling food and drinks and renting sunbeds. Lines are huge and food junk with inflated prices (ordinary bakery stuff, didn't see nothing below 5 euros a piece). We stayed some 2,5-3 hours and moved to Antisamos beach which has much more facilities.

A beautiful beach, which is relaxing. The sea was fairly choppy and no one was in it, which I was told is usual for Mytros Beach. I managed to have a quick swim, but came straight back in due to the strong undercurrent and I am a strong swimmer, so please be weary of it.

There is a cafe, toilets and a lifeguard on duty at the beach.

You are no longer allowed to go into the cave at the fair end of the beach, due to falling rocks.

There are view points of the beach up at the top of the cliff, at both sides, which provide a fantastic view of the beach.

100% recommend, such a beautiful beach!

This beach is beautiful. The water is crystal clear and when we were there, the water was warm. You must have water shoes because the beach is very rocky. Also, they do have beach chairs but not many. Also there is a little cafe you can get something to eat and drink, and they have bathrooms and shower.

Beautiful pebble beach with clear blue water and a small cave for exploring. Cafe and snack bar on site plus umbrellas and seats for a slight fee.

On our way to Fiskardo we stopped off and had a look down to Myrtos beah. From distance it looks like white sands, but the locals informed us that it's actually small pebbles.

It does look uber-gorgeous, but another warning we were given is that there can be some nasty undercurrents off the beach, so please be careful when swimming especially the little ones.

Also, it's a mini rally stage to get down from the main road.

Approaching Myrtos beach, you can see what all the fuss is about, simply breathtaking and stunning.

Beach is glorious, rock foreshore which requires the special beach shoes for optimal experience, however waters are crystal clear and great for swimming.

Snorkelling available is different areas , including near the cave.

Beach chairs available for rent, parking okay , but get in early to be sure, toilets and shower, and cafe also available.

Overall, fabulous experience and probable number 1 must visit in Kefalonia.

The water is clear and Beautiful to swim in and look at.
Please note that it is a pebble beach so would recommend some wet shoes as it can be difficult to walk on.
When you look down from the main road viewing point it looks like sand.
Parking is plentyful but can get very busy in the afternoon.

The most beautiful beach I have been to and I have been to several around Greece. The water is quite cold though but nothing to deter you from being there. The waves are strong and the water can be deep as you enter. I wouldn't recommend it for small children unless supervised at ALL times. There are toilets there and a canteen to buy some water and snacks. The umbrella and 2 beds costs 10 euro with an extra 3 euro for each additional bed. The main thing to highlight is the drive, which is not for those scared of heights. Small cars are recommended, as the roads are narrow, dangerous and in some cases fit one car. So if you come across another car, it will be challenging to reverse or move to the edge due to cliffs with minimal barriers. You may see mountain goats on your drive which add to the areas beauty. I would recommend going but only if you're ok with all the above. We loved it! Just beautiful.

Views speak for themselves. Beach is stunning and the water is crystal clear. However, nowhere to park car except on beach which I think is truly awful. No beach bar or toilets. So if you go there, make sure you have food & drink with you and a can to pee into!!

The views and the color of the water is simply stunning. The beach is a pebble beach and when its windy the waves are too rough to swim in. There is a lifeguard on duty and serviced sunbeds and loungers but your are free to setup on your own also. Would recommend coming well supplied as the road up and down is steep.
