Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

You will need to take a taxi from Symi Gialos to get to Agios Giorgos. The price is 7 euros go and return but with this ticket you can visit more beaches on your way back. The beach is in the shade from around 3PM onwards. It is easier and more comfortable without too much sun but the waters are more beautiful while it is still sunny. If you do one of the boat tours -I highly recommend you do one either with Maria's boat or the Poseidon one- you will visit Agios Giorgos again but they usually go late when it is in the shade. The landscape with the high rocks is simply out of this world!

Taxi boat from main port area. The initial view of the beach takes your breath away , it’s very dramatic with towering cliffs . The water is crystal clear . It was fairly peaceful and then a large boat turned up with many day trippers from Rhodes. Spoilt it for me then as the atmosphere changed and it wasn’t peaceful but the boats soon go and it’s back to peaceful again. . I think this seems to happen lots , I guess as it’s so beautiful. The beach looses the sun in the afternoon also but this adds to its mystery , the colours become more vivid then.

Very clean and quiet (when the boats have been and gone), one of the best, if not the best, beaches on the island. We stayed till 6 pm and it was wonderful as we were almost alone.

one of the most famous beaches in Greece is now paying the price of glory. If you're among the early birds, you can enjoy half to an hour of tranquility, but after boats from Rhodes and Turkey arrive, peace is over and you can just admire dozens of boats that block the horizon, together with crowds of tourists floating in the water. It's become a mock of itself...

A natural beach, accessible by boat, in an impressive landscape, enclosed into a huge vertical rock which provides shadow especially after 3.00 in the afternoon. Deep, clear waters attract swimmers to enjoy the sea. The image is completed by the "special guests" of the area, wandering goats jumping all over the beach seeking out food. The presence of numerous yachts anchored not far from the beach is a flaw, to my point of view. Anyway, it worths a a visit.

No facilities here but an absolutely stunning bay . Water taxis call but you need to take all your food and drink with you .

You can only get here if you have your own boat or use the taxi-boat service - check the details and timings carefully, because the beach is not accessible by land! Some of the day-trip boats call in on certain days. There's only a little chapel and some trees for shade, but can be very peaceful and romantic, if you get it all to yourselves. Just make sure you have plenty of water with you.

Go, go, go! That's my only comment. But be sure to have all the necessary with you (water, food) because there is nothing to rely on. And of course, arrange with a boat to take you there/bring you back! Amazing place, I tell you!

The only way to get there if you don't have your own boat is by taxi boats which leave Symi harbour pretty much on the hour up until 13.00 hrs and return throughout the afternoon. The beach is mostly pebbles and there are no facilities but if you want to escape normal life for a few hours this the best choice on Symi.

Hi! It's about 20-30 minutes I guess - I didn't use a taxi but a boat that make daily cruises, so Agios Giorgios was part of a 7 hours excursion...
