Wonderful sunset view

The chapel is at the highest altitude of Patmos island. The view is stunning and you can enjoy beautiful sunset scene. Just take a jacket with you because it can be windy and cold.

Amazing view from this church, that can be reached by scooter, car or feet. Always remember that you're visiting a sacred place. So, even if it's not important for you, maybe it's important for the locals.

You can drive your car to this place but I would not go there by bike or motorbike because the 1km final road is extremely steep and narrow. But just the view is extremely rewarding all the same. It makes you wander away on silence...

From the mountain of Profitis Ilias, you will get a view to Khora in one direction, Petra in another and the bay of Stavros with Diakofti beach in a third. You can also look down to the beautiful convent of the Annunciation or Evangelismos nunnery, worth a visit on its own. At sunset you will have a great view over... More

I am surprised to find this tiny Monastery on TripAdvisor. It has the most stunning views of the island of Patmos. It is the highest point of the island and it is also here where I scattered my daughters ashes last September. It is a very steep climb and quiet far. I would advice no one to attempt to walk... If you can, just go eraly in the morning as soon as they open, as you can often find very big and noisy groups.

The road up to the chapel can be intimidating, because it is very steep!!!At least if you are on a moped. I couldnt go into the chapel, since every time I went up there,it was closed. But the view is just breathtaking...you can see everything around you, the nearby islands. If you are in Patmos, it is a must see!!
