Even on a day of pouring rain, the view was superb!!!!! I would say this is the main draw to this monastery. The monastery is very small with beautiful mosaics, murals and rock work. You don't need a lot of time to walk through and enjoy the craftsmanship and story of Elias the Profit. They have many old books here... More

We thought we were lost driving up the narrow windy road .. but we were right !! The views from up there were amazing.. you can see the whole island practically .... Lovely chapel, small, not really a whole lot to see and do up there, but do buy some gifts from their small gift shop and have a friendly... More

At the highest point of Santorini, amazing views along the way. Inside the chapel the atmosphere was calm and cooling, a visit well worth the climb.

Calm and tranquil. You can sample the home made wine and honey and the prices are very good. The monks were very friendly.

We went as a private minibus tour. The driver was really professional and drove us very well. This is the highlight of Santorini and is the highest point of the all island. The view is absolutely unique and gorgeous. The gift shop sells wine and local products made by monkey from monastery.

Very good for scenic sights of the island but a little bit of a hair raising experience driving up to it. If your on a bus you may have your eyes closed the whole way. On a n ATV you will have some more room on the 1+ lane road. The church is open most days but not the monastery... More

The trip up the mountain is worth it for the view and the photo opportunity. Light a candle in the chapel then sample some of the monks' products. A nice little gift shop on site offers religious items, handmade soaps, dried figs, olive oil, wine, honey, "forest fruit" marmalade, and a variety of beeswax balms and lotions. There's a modern... If you have rented a car or ATV this beautiful place is worth a visit. The views from up there are amazing too. There is a little shop which sells item made in the monastery.
