About
The setting that Gallery Art of the loom is located in was built in 1866 and was originally used as a winery serving the needs of the local society for wine production. After the great earthquake of 1956 the building remained untouched until 2010 when we renovated it and maintained intact the traditional cycladic architecture.Today the Gallery houses some of the best works by many well-known Greek artists which include oil paintings, jewelry, ceramics, glass and bronze creations and many others. In our opinion we have created an actual place of art, so enjoy!!!

Stumbled upon this place while walikg arounf Thira. Their displays are amazing. We had no intention of purchasing anythin in Santorini however when we saw thier wall displays we were smitten. We placed an order there and then for Delivey to the UK.
Absolutly humble and freindly staff always bending over backwards to help. This is a specila place to visit

visited all of their 3 galleries searching for the right piece of glass . all pieces equally beautiful , wonderful staff , but we finally found it at mary's , what a lovely talented lady. so to meet her and find our gem was very special . she packed it beautifully and it arrived back in the uk with us yesterday . decided it was too special to use as a platter on the dining room table , so now has pride of place on a stand in our lounge. definately worth a visit , all original handmade pieces

Go visit Mary in her shop of beautiful items. The glass items are stunning, the jewelry unusual, and Mary herself is warm & welcoming. She will work with any price point to get you a beautiful reminder of your time in Santorini. And also arranges shipping back to your home. Looking forward to our package arriving soon! Thank you Mary, the very talented artist!

Art of the Loom Gallery is near to the cable car station uphill and has a wonderful view overlooking the sea. It was first built in 1866 as winery but renovated after the earthquake in 1956 but maintaining the traditional cycladic architectural style. Lots of Greek glass, bronze, painting and jewel items to see and buy from this gallery. Worth to visit while you are here.

There were some cheaper options and some very beautiful and interesting jewellery. The glass work was not to my taste, but there were some nice oils, woodwork and metalwork also. However a lot of the pieces were 500+ euro.. So you're paying big for individual pieces. Out of my pay bracket.

This was absolutely our favorite spot in Santorini. Over 1 week we passed by everyday on our walks along the caldera. We got to know Mary the artist and owner and had many delightful conversations with her. The glass is amazing so it took us awhile to find the pieces we loved the most and took them home to remember our lovely visit on the island of Santorini.

It would have been so easy to buy a lot more than we did - but not easy to take on a plane. So many gorgeous, stylish, 'different' pieces to choose from. Priced well and not taking advantage of tourists - which so often happens in beautiful holiday settings! We met Mary who is a wonderful lady and was happy to explain items and allowed us to look. No pushy selling here - in fact quite the opposite. I am so pleased with what we bought - especially the glass seahorse. We hope to come back some day ..

Stumbled upon the smaller gallery during a caldera walk and had a chance to talk to Mary, the glass artist, a very interesting person. The smaller gallery also has more jewelry, and more affordable pieces. I ended upon purchasing 2 glass pieces, jewelry and a hard to find stucco landscape that I treasure. I like supporting local artists
