The cable car is nothing special. I wouldn't do it just for the sake of doing it but it seemed like a better alternative than walking or a donkey ride. There are a couple of cool places and trips that are at the bottom. Probably...More

-6E one way - buy ticket and wait (no reserving a time) - very efficient but if you are on a timetable (cruise ship) good idea to look at how many other ship are in port and give yourself up to 2 hours to wait...More

A 5 minute cable car ride between Fira and the dock. Good fun. Cheap. And a nice eating spot at the end. One can also see the Santorini donkeys / really mules go by.

The cable car is quick way down the mountain to the port for those going back to a cruise ship. Be warned that the line gets longer closer to ship departure times in the afternoon and buying a ticket in advance provides no time/line advantage...More

If you want to get to the top of the mountain it's the cable car, a mule ride $12 US or walk up/own 595 slippery steps. FYI the stairs are also shared with the mules in both directions. Depending on your health and balance walking...More

We are a family of 5 so it was 30 each way. We took it to the pier to go to the hot springs. The ride is very fast and nice views.

The trip in the cable car was short however full of nice views. make sure you take the first cabin while going down and the last while going up. it is a bit expensive for 12 euros for 2 ways up and down.

This is a fast way to get to Fira frank the old port. We also walked and preferred that. Nothing special, it is simply a mode of transportation.

It costs you €6 to old port and another €6 back to Fira. The journey is about 3-5 minutes but if you choose to walk to old port, it may be 20-25 minutes walking distance. If you love hiking, you can choose to walk to...More

Take the cable car its not expensive. Its cruel for the donkeys to have to climb up the very steep gradient and would never be tolerated in Uk.
