Ride through the 'jungle roads' onto the beach. Most tours ride through the sea to a small island. We stop on the way back at a beach cafe to buy a drink and enjoy the view across to Paros or in the evening watch the sunset. All abilities are catered for from beginners to advanced riders.

Great ride!
Sep. 2020 • Couples
Linda, team and horses were great. We had such a beautiful hack to the beach where we got to canter! Exhilarating experience!

As intermediate riders, we have found previous hacking / horse riding experiences to be quite boring. This ride was much more interesting and exciting, we loved it!

Thanks Linda and team! Also, for recommending Sarris Taverna in town - food (and wine!) was the best!!

First pony ride
Aug. 2020 • Family
I can’t understand why this doesn’t feature more highly in things to do with children in Naxos! It was lovely. Just a simple 30 minute pony ride, the children (age 8 and 3) were delighted by it!

Amazing sunset ride views but poorly groomed horses
Aug. 2020 • Couples
Overall I have enjoyed the amazing sunset views. However, I would not book this experience for the second time.

Pros:
- Very nice personal
- Amazing views

Cons:
- Some of the horses look very thin (see the attached pictures) and have problems with legs injuries (e. g. Emmy was evidently showing the indications of lameness and it was to pity for me to go for a canter on her on a beach - as a rider with over 20 years experience I've decided to stay with the beginners group...)
- Some of the horses are misbehaving (kicking, biting) - I've witnessed 2 strong kicks given to another horse's belly and once I was almost kicked directly in my ankle...
- Very young girls leading the group couldn't take care of its safety properly (order of the horses, keeping the distances between the horses, not avoiding sudden stops which caused some extra bites and kicks...)

Normally I thank people for their review. However on this occasion I don't thank you. For someone who has over 20 years experience your comments are unjustified. Firstly our horses are not thin. Some are ex race horses who are now older and due to the pandemic were not excercised as normal during the winter and are not as muscled as they would usually be. The angle of your photo would make the fattest horse look out of proportion. Secondly, all horses and ponies are groomed properly before each ride and are washed down afterwards. Thirdly, if Emmy was lame, why did you ride her? I would expect a person of your experience to query this with the owner. As it happens she is not lame, just a little stiff sometimes, as older horses can be. Exercise helps this. This was explained to you. Fourthly, if you were nearly kicked you were not keeping your distance. Again as an experienced rider you should be able to do this. Unfortunately, sometimes tourists do not listen to the instructions given by the guides (who are all in their mid 20's by the way). Your boyfriend was one of these and by stopping and going out of order and alongside other horses and ponies caused the problem of kicking. Finally, at no point did you mention any of your comments to myself where explanations could be made.

The highlight of our time in Naxos!
Aug. 2020 • Family
We had a brilliant time riding Linda's horses at sunset in Naxos. As a family of 4 we were all given appropriate horses for our age/weight and as beginners. The guides at the stables checked helmets were secure, masks were worn at start and end and gave advice on how to ride and use the reins. We went with 3 other riders and the 2 guides with the experienced riders given the chance to gallop on the beach while we went at a good steady pace. The children had a brilliant time and said this is the highlight of their holiday! We would totally recommend this for a memorable trip whilst visiting Naxos, it was a lovely peaceful time

Maybe not for beginners? ... better check the horse you have.
Aug. 2019 • Family
This review is posted by a mum ( only ridden a horse once before) and her 10 year old son. ( never ridden a horse).
I do agree with some of the review made by Pippa125.
Some of the horses have specific characteristics which I feel are not at all suited to beginners. My horse had a muzzle and head net to stop sunburn. From the moment I got on the horse was constantly shaking its head which made me feel like I could not control her. Another horse rider had a horse who loves to play and roll in the sand and decided to do this and threw the rider off.
The owner Linda, works very hard to look after her horses and they all look pretty healthy but some of them are rescue horses. I understand horses are not robots and can do unusual things but the guides knew that some of the horses had specific characteristics and I think they really are not suited to a beginner.
My son liked the experience despite the fact he got scared at one point- the horse started cantering and he could not stop it. The guide reassured him and led him back safely to the stables.
My son would like to go on another horse, but I now have second thoughts.... my advice is that if you book you specifically ask them not for the horse that rolls in the sand or the horse with the net on its head. Most of the other horses were well behaved.
Overall this is a good club and we wish you good luck riding a horse, especially a horse with weird habits!

Thank you for your review. Firstly you state that you are a beginner. As such you would not actually know what level of rider a horse is suited to.Secondly the muzzle is only to help you so that the horse does not eat. Neither this or the fly mask affect the horse at all, she wears it every day. I myself explained to you that the horse was shaking its head because you were causing her pain by grabbing your reins extremely tight. She stopped when you released the reins and stopped hurting her. I do have rescue horses but they are all retrained and are only given to the level of rider they are suited to. I am glad your son had a good time though and hope he will continue to ride.

Never getting back on a horse
Aug. 2019 • Friends
My friend and I booked to do a 2 hour sunset hack. We were both beginners and I was a little nervous about the experience.
We met Linda, a super interesting character with wonderful stories to tell about the island of Naxos and her life there.
When we arrived at the stables, everything was very well organised. Horses were ready for us and Linda had picked out in advance which horse would be appropriate for each rider. The horses were very healthy and happy.
We were given brief, basic riding instructions and off we went. I probably could have done with a little more instruction and support given that it was my first time on a horse in many years which I had made very clear.
The route itself was not what we were hoping for. We didn’t find it the prettiest of tracks, although others may do.
After about half an hour the lead rider asked how we were and I said I was feeling a little scared and uncomfortable and that I didn’t feel in control of the horse. I was told that I would be fine and we continued on. I found this frustrating and unnerving, which quite upset me. My friend (a slightly more experienced rider) was a few horses back and felt there was nothing he could do to help my situation as we had been told we had to stay in one line and not overtake others.
Once we reached the beach the horses, for some reason, seemed rather skittish. We thought it was perhaps because of the windsurfers or because of the wind, but Linda later explained it was possibly because of an earthquake or aftershocks in the area.l as her horses never behave like this. The lead rider’s horse kicked the horse behind it, which caused the other horses to become more unnerved. Several horses, including mine, broke away at a greater speed than I was comfortable with and although I was following the original riding instructions given, the horse was not responding. After shouting for help and feeling completely out of control, I was eventually thrown from the horse which was terrifying and extremely upsetting. I was left sat in the sand, in shock and crying, completely ignored by the lead rider and the rest of the team. My friend had to ask for help down from his horse to come and make sure I was ok. This took several minutes and I descended into panic. None of the guides seemed to know how to react to the situation and little empathy was shown regarding my state of shock and panic. The group split into two - more advanced riders in one direction and beginners in another. We were told we would be collected from the beach, but were directed to different meeting points by different guides. The madness continued. Two of the more experienced riders were also thrown from their horses. At one point three horses were galloping unattended round the beach, which was even more unnerving for me and my friend.
Linda arrived with more riders and the horses were rounded up. She took me, my friend and a very upset, dazed young French girl who had also come off her horse back to the stables where we were given a bottle of cold water and told to sit down.
Little empathy was shown to the riders who had a thoroughly unpleasant experience, and there seemed to be no procedure in place for this kind of eventuality and it felt like the situation was completely overlooked.
We looked into whether there had been an earthquake or aftershock to explain the skittishness of the horses, but nothing had been reported, and now after reading other Trip Advisor reviews we have seen that this is not a one off occasion.
I’m sure this is a lovely activity for more experienced riders. I however, as a beginner rider, feel more instruction, support and empathy would be needed to make this a more comfortable and enjoyable experience.

Thank you for your review. I am glad that you found our horses healthy and happy. Because an earthquake or tremor has not been reported doesn't mean it didn't happen. It was explained to you that in fact we did have this situation once before because of an earthquake. The scenery I cannot do anything about and yes others do find it very beautiful. I am sorry you felt this had not been dealt with particularly well but the guides are trained in what to do. You were given water and ASKED not told to sit down . By this time both you and your friend were laughing about your experience and in fact had a good laugh all the way back to the drop off point. I must also point out that we do give you basic instruction but cannot teach you to ride in the time you spend with us.

A beautiful sunset ride
Jul. 2019 • Friends
Such a fun evening activity exploring some really picturesque areas of Naxos. A great trip for both experienced and beginners but definitely only declare yourself as experienced if you truly mean it and can ride English style well as the gallop section is fast and not for the faint hearted. So much fun and the horses were really well kept, run by a lovely lady too

So pleased we booked this!

Lovely to ride in the sun, through the countryside and on the beach.
Wish I have been more organised and booked twice so I could have spent more time cantering.
Guides were lovely and everyone was very friendly at the stables.
You do ride through quite narrow lanes with overhanging bamboo - but that was part of the charm and we loved ducking under the branches and weaving in and out of the trees. This enhanced our experience as we felt in amongst the Naxos countryside.
Thank you for inspiring me to get on a horse again now I am home!
