This is a lovely secluded beach but I feel I must warn you, particularly families about two things. First of all, there is no shelter from the sun so I would advise you to buy/bring an umbrella so that you can stay longer.
The second thing I need to warn you about is that swimming in the sea is only advised for very strong swimmers. I’m 38 and the waves nearly took me out to the point where I had a panic thinking ‘this is it!’ It makes it harder to swim in the sea because underneath your feet are stones so it’s hard to get a grip to stand up when the waves are so strong. If kids are swimming in the sea they need armbands/ a lilo and/or supervision.
Other than that it’s a pleasant beach and a nice quiet one if you want a bit of peace. 🏖

We read up on few beaches and checked with our host. This was highly recommended and a fair trek on a suspect road for our car hire terms and conditions! When we arrived at the car park there was an overwhelming stench of (excuse my language) piss. Holding our noses we continued to the beach, which had a few people lounging and wandering around. There was quite a bit of rubbish in and out of the water, discarded camp fires etc. We stayed 10min then left totally disappointed. The taverna was closed too!

Fokos beach is one of the most beautiful beaches in Mykonos, with clear waters, but it is a bit deep and steep. It is not a good choice when there are strong winds on the island, because it has big waves and it is a bit dangerous for swimming. It is also a sandy beach, quiet and ideal for relaxation. It is not organized but has a Greek tavern very close to the beach where you can find food and coffee. Fokos combines the beauty and the wildness. It's just amazing!!!

Quiet, beautiful beach away from the crowds of Mykonos with crystal clear waters. We arrived early and had the beach to ourselves for a while which was great. We hired an ATV as it is quite far away from the main centre.

We stayed at this beach under the Recommendation of our hotel driver. The road to get there is largely dirt and also fun to do. The beach itself is nothing special, it is sand mixed with pebbles and stones. If you have time you can visit it, otherwise Recommendation to see other beaches. Only note of merit the tavern behind the beach where you eat very well with normal prices for the island

Fokos beach is one of the most beautiful beaches in Mykonos, with clean waters but is a little deep and sharp. If you are looking for a really lovely beach with calm waters, sand and very friendly to all ages and swimming levels then this is Fokos.
If you are into parties, loud music and all the rest then Fokos is not for you.
For us, Fokos has always been our preferred beach in Mykonos.

Bit off the beaten track but well worth the effort of getting there as there is not a thing there other than one small taverna. We arrived around 11.00 am and found only about 6 people there on the expanse of beach. As the day went on people arrived in dribs and drabs. The beach is excellent for a day of nothing and the sea is safe for swimming and snorkeling. Naturist friendly with the majority of them being to the right as you look at the sea. Bring everything you need as all that is there is the taverna.

This beach is another unspoilt one, with no umbrellas, beach bars or loud music...only issues is without a car or scooter you can get there...really nice photo opportunity with a rock feature on right hand side of the beach!!

Hiked down to Fokos. It’s quiet lovely. In September it’s a quiet little slice of heaven tucked away from the hustle and bustle of the rest of the island.

People on here are saying it’s a secluded beach, but isn’t Fokos Taverna nearby?

Hi Jane, Yes, there is a Taverna just back from the beach. It the only building anywhere near the beach. (Apart from a few houses on the nearby hills.) Compared to other beaches on Mykonos, this one is secluded. The beach is at the end of a bumpy old dirt road which follows a dammed river. One of the most Northern beaches on Mykonos.
