- Neil COld Windsor, United Kingdom506 contributionsDefinitely worth a visit but take waterInteresting to see the caves deep in the mountain, worth a trip. The stalactites and stalagmites are amazing. Cool inside the caves, 400 steps down and back up but relatively easy if you take your time. Tip - take a water bottleVisited June 2024Travelled with friendsWritten 27 June 2024

- vjnadkarniSan Jose, California5 contributionsMagnificent experience at Caves of Antiparos, not to be missedWe had a magnificent experience going down the caves of Antiparos island next to Paros. Quite easily the single best activity for us during our Paros visit. The stalactites in the caves are a sight to behold. The caves go to a depth of 85 meters (that’s roughly a 28-storey building at 3 meters per floor). And worth every penny (entry fee was 5 EUR pp). The interior is structurally very sound with firm handrails and grippy steps the entire way. There are countless places to take great pictures. This is truly a not-to-be-missed experience if you’re visiting Paros (you’ll have to take a 7-min ferry from Paros to Antiparos).Visited September 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 11 September 2024

CLOSED (July 2020) due to Covid, but no information until you arrive at the cave entrance. Every few minutes new would-be visitors arrive, only to be frustrated. It would be so easy for the local mayor to post signs at the port and at the road crossing towards the cave informing about the closure. Countless people would save the ride of 10+10km and an hour of their time. The cave itself is a beautiful place to visit, I know if from earlier visits.

Pleasant visit to this cave which is finally quite deep and on several levels. Access is easy by vehicle. Then it will take about 400 stairs (also doable with flip-flops!). The volume is quite impressive and the caves are interesting to visit. The Award is five euros per person from a good half hour to return. Be careful, everything you go down (stairs) must be climbed again!

Amazing to look at throughout. You do need to have a good head for heights especially at the start when you can see many metres down! The stairs are concrete with full handrails both sides all the way which made it easy to walk down and up. I’m not the fittest but made it all the way with plenty of places to rest on the way. Definitely recommend a visit.

Easy access by car to the entrance. Once inside (long way down to the bottom of the cave) you should sure that you will be able to climb back! Some training is required, and please do not go on flip- flops. Very nice interior, spectacular chambers...and some interesting stories about pirates and their treasures.

Last visited these caves 13 years ago and really enjoyed the visit. However, this time there were significant sections of stairs with no light at all and none of the lights “in” the steps worked anymore. Needs some urgent maintenance before someone goes tumbling! Could also do with some info about the history of the place.

Used to this kind of visit , having spent long periods in the Périgord , the idea of visiting caves on a practically deserted island was not a great Check-out craze . Then we thought why not go cool down in the basement!! . True, it will not mark our memories, but it was worth it to go back and forth about 400 steps. The view of the platform on the island and its big sister Paros is still magnificent.Enter 5€

Decided to take in this site and was glad we did. Beautiful rock formations. Very humid down there but if you can handle it than it’s worth it. Stairs were easy, but many of them. Well lit up so you always felt safe when walking.
I think it’s a must see!

I plan to drive to Antiparos in mid-March, are there any hopes that The Cave will be available?
Written 21 December 2019
I’m not sure but I know that much of Paros is closed from October thru May so I recommend checking the website.
