We stayed at the HOTEL NEPTUNE, this was an all inclusive hotel, could not fault it, it was a perfect stay. Our flight was 1hr late so arrived at 11pm tired and hungry and what a lovely surprise, they had put on a cold buffet...More

I stayed 400m from the beach in the outskirts of Iraklion. I visited every day. Where I was there was lots of peace and quiet, open space and usually sun. It does get quite windy on Ammoudara Beach compared to other beaches I’ve used elsewhere....More

Plenty of free sun loungers, and excellent cafes and bars right on the beach and from the centre of Heraklion it is only 1 euro 70 each way on the bus which takes about 25 minutes.

Just ok. Not a beach you will remember but a very good idea if after you wanna visit Heraklion. Water is clean even if so close to the city.

Lovely beach in a beautiful bay. Soft sand slopes gently into the sea ideal for kids. Free sunbeds provided you buy a drink which is delivered to you while you sunbathe. Nice taverna overlooking the beach and sea.

Ammoudara Beach is actually one of the nicest beaches on Crete. This is especially true if you live in or visit Heraklion specifically. What was once the region's most popular touristic beach, has calmed down quite a bit since Malia and Hersonissos gained fame. We...More

We go here because it's convenient and close to our home in Heraklion. It is not the best beach in the area, but the sand is fine, and there are free sunbeds with umbrellas. But you have to buy drinks and they are pricey. The...More

Good solution if you like a quick(close to the city) bath or a more loud and organised(umbrellas, beach bars) beach.Nice for families because it is sandy and shallow.
