Good solution if you like a quick(close to the city) bath or a more loud and organised(umbrellas,beach bars) beach.Nice for families because it is sandy and shallow.

We caught the bus in Elestherious square and went there getting off a the nearer end. It was early in their holiday season but was pleasant lying around on the beach although in April the water was cool. Think the nearer end is probably better...More

We walked from Agios Nikolaos past several small beaches and across the river and marshland, wonderful protected area for flora and fauna to-this beach for lunch relaxation prior to the return journey, wonderfully relaxing day

YES you can take the bus No 6 to Amudara-Hotels. This bus starts from the airport and travers all the Heraklion and goes to Amudara. It cost 1,70€.
