We caught the little boat from Plaka which cost 10 Euro each, it only takes 10-15 minutes and you can have as long as you like on Spinalonga, the boats come and go frequently. Cost 8 Euro each admission, there are toilets and a little cafe...More

Rather hair raising in places as no given routes, clambering round the island over rocks; apart from the museum side which was interesting & a lot safer. Not ideal for disabled, those with restricted mobility or small children. Glad we wore hats on the day...More

Very interesting trip but the the huge crowds of people spoiled it for me. It was a short trip by boat to the island. Once there it was a case of fighting through the crowds to keep up with your guide. The guide had given...More

Spinalonga is an interesting place, however the best information can be researched on your return using the internet, true to say the crowds do get large so do as we did and get an early ferry across, you will only need an hour to get...More

Just the boat journey itself is spectacular to this island.... best to drive to Plakka and get the return boat from there for 10e. The island charges 8e for a day ticket. which is rigorously checked. The island is grossly overcrowded during the day with...More

Had to visit this after my wife read The Island by Victoria Hislop. Boat across from Elounda gives a really good approach. An interesting place with a sad, potted history. Our guide, Veta, was really good and made the day. Quite atmospheric. A definite visit...More

Spinalonger Easy ferry access. A fascinating history and insite into the trials of the people who have inhabited this tiny island overtime. Read 'The Island' by Victoria Hislop before you go.

I went to Spinalonga on a excursion. The tourist guide I found was a little boring so my Husband and I decided to go and explore by ourselves. It was a very interesting place with a lot of historical features. I would recommend to visit...More

My heart sank when I saw coach after coach after coach ferrying tourists back after their excursions to Spinalonga, but still decided it was a place that I wanted to see for myself. We got the first available small boat from Plaka, but even then...More

Hi I haven’t been from Agios but very easy to catch a bus to Plaka or Elounda and it’s a much shorter boat trip from there.

We booked a tour with Jet 2 which also included a bbq and stop off for swimming, not all the boats have tour guides, there are boats available at Elounda harbour for 10€ each which drop you at the island and return every 30... More
