Beware that disabled parking is very limited. Fascinating market and old town full of alleys and shops selling Cretan products.

A place no one should miss when visiting Chania. It has everything, regarding food. Cretan products like cheese of all kinds from fresh to mature cheese, olives, olive oil, wine, raki, herbs, and quite a few little taverns with excellent food, favorite being Agapinis Tavern. It is located on the right side of the "cross" of the building, it is... More

We really enjoyed wondering through the markets shops in Chania old town. Sellers are mostly not pushy but friendly. There's great leather stores, crockery and kitchenware, olive oil products, jewellery and more. Of course you can find usual tourist nonsense too! But give yourself a couple of hours to wander around and you can find some great souvenirs.

We loved this market. We waited to get to Crete to buy olive oil which is what we wanted to bring home because we noticed a lot of the bottled oils were produced in Crete. We found a small olive oil shop operated by a lovely woman who offered free tastings of her family's oil. It was the only merchant... More

We had been on the cruise ship for over 12 days and this was our last Greek port before getting to Venus. We took a bus from the port and it took 10-15 minutes and included the return trip for free. On a cruise, you must make sure you get back in time. The bus trip was nice and I took... More

After several other Greek cruise ports, Chania was our final one on the cruise. Shopping in the agora was charming, fairly low hassle and overall pleasant. We found the prices to be be some of the cheapest of the whole cruise. We bought some spices, clothes and other standard tourist stuff. My wife got two dresses for the same price... More

You can buy everything in the center of Chania, both in the Market Hall and in many of the small roads in the center. Everything means: Tourist-Junk, expensive jewelry, food, ceramic, leather stuff, clothes, ect. ect. If you have shopping interest, you can use hours here.
