We don’t speak Greek, but opted for the 9:30 am Sunday Mass in Greek (the English Mass is at 6:30 pm). Reverent liturgy with traditional hymns sung a cappella and led by a parishioner. Good participation among the people attending and many cultures represented.

This is the only Catholic Church that you will find in Athens, where the rest of the churches are Orthodox.

In Kolonaki area this church is a gem. When you around this area go and light a candle and admire the neoclassic architecture.

We came across this lovely church by accident on our walk in Athens. It is not very imposing at first, but when you look at it you realise it's a really lovely building with some interesting neo-renaissance architectural features. It was built in the second...More

We attended an anticipated Sunday mass here. The church is typical Roman Catholic and evidently simpler if comparison to Orthodox Churches. We found the service typical of a catholic mass...that is why it is universal in character. We did not have to understand Greek to...More

Most churches in Greece range between tiny and small. This one is impressive, not only because of its size, but also because of its location. If you are interested in churches, this is definitely an important one.

I went to Mass here on two consecutive Sundays before doing a little research to discover its history. Marble steps lead up to the impressive interior of this Cathedral, which was built in 1865. The church has three aisles . The marble pulpits donated by...More

Perhaps the best place to get your bearings is
Syntagma Square, crowned by the imposing Parliament
building on its upper side and surrounded by other
large structures, such as the exclusive Hotel Grande
Bretagne. The grand avenues that lead towards Omonia
are also full of massive Neoclassical edifices like
the Numismatic Museum and those around smaller Platia
Kolokotroni. Here you will find lots of travel agents,
