This tiny church right next to the main cathedral is worth a look. As other reviewers have noted, it's historically important and artistically fascinating. Easy to include in your walk in the Plaka district.

Located in a quiet corner of the square which is dominated by the Metropolitan Cathedral, this church is often overlooked by visitors. For one thing, it's comparatively tiny. But what it lacks in size, it makes up in history. Built in the late-12th century in...More

Found this little church walking around the city. It was a nice break from the touristy shops and the pressure from the restaurants try to pull us in for a meal.

This 13th-century Byzantine church is so unique: built completely of masonry and adorned with a selection of carefeully selected classical spoliated pieces. The pagan pieces were Christianized with the inclusion of inscribed crosses. Highly recommended!

This quaint little church will leave you speechless. It is hundreds of years old and you can see how the city has grown up around it. It seems quite out of place where it is, which is one of the neat things about seeing it....More

This is seriously a hidden gem. Very calming, relaxing and spiritual place. Sorry to say, but in this case size doesn't matter!
