We spent most of our time here when we were not sight seeing. Great historical value, restaurants, shopping and hotels here.

This neighborhood offers lots of fantastic restaurants (try the Roof Garden area), crafts, sandals of all shapes and styles, jewelry and of course an antiquity or too tucked along the meandering streets. So much fun!

Stroll around and let yourself get lost in these little streets. Buy souvenirs, eat lovely food and just enjoy yourself! Great by day, even better by night. Try and get a table at one of the rooftop restaurants and watch the Acropolis as it lights...More

When in Greece, Plaka is the place for absolutely incredible Greek cuisine at absolutely incredible prices. Also, you can buy some authentic Greek souvenirs for family and friends without even looking at the bank.

This area is where everybody goes to lunch or dine. It is very popular at night and very crowded. All the restaurants offer practically the same menu with some slight variation.

We stayed at the boutique hotel, Athen's Lodge. A 3 minute walk to the Plaka. Vast selection of places to eat and plenty of shops. Be prepared to walk and there is plenty to see.

You have to go here. It’s cool. But be prepared for crowds. Best to take a map but try to get lost. Found some cool places that way. And be prepared for all of the restaurants to try to entice you to eat at their...More

Due to its proximity to the Acropolis, Plaka remains
the area where the majority of foreign visitors stay

Mitropolis cathedral, as well as a host of places to
stay, eat and drink. Its pedestrian zones make it a
pleasant place to escape from the city’s notorious

You said "weeks" but maybe you meant to say "a week's...". If you have one week and you want lots to do, go to Mykonos (also spelled Mikonos) if you can afford it. Its probably the most expensive island. We were on a tight... More
