Our tourist map listed this as a "Museum of Plottery". We figured it was a misprint, but we had to see it anyway. Because it was free and we were nearby, we felt it was worth our time. There were plenty of exhibits on the way pottery was and is made in Greece, including the different techniques of each island.... More

Didn't throw a pot but admired the building. A nice diversion from the main attractions. Not necessarily worth walking miles to see it but if nearby then take a peak

These classes are amazing-I had taken pottery in the US before on the wheel, and these classes allow your hands to build from scratch, without the wheel (at first) so you can get a real feel for the different types of clay, the textures, the lectures, the chemicals that make up the different glazes-it's building from the bottom up-an immensely... Staying in Psirri / Gazi

Neighbourhood Profile
Psirri / Gazi
Side-by-side neighbourhoods Psirri and Gazi provide some of the city’s prime nightlife. The almost claustrophobic streets of Psirri feature an interesting blend of original small businesses with the restaurants, cafés and bars that have recently sprouted up. The central artery of Agion Anargiron Street has lively places to eat or drink. Further west, you can visit the peaceful ancient cemetery of Keramikos, then cross busy Pireos Street to find yourself in Gazi. With the huge Technopolis performance and art complex converted from old gasworks at its heart, you really have to come at night to appreciate this maze of bars at its best, although a daytime stroll will allow you to admire the excellent street art.
