I had heard great things about Mariner, so I decided to book a sailing holiday on the Turkish Lycian coast with them this year. I joined a group of friends on a chartered yacht as part of the yacht rally, and we had an amazing time.
Our yacht was a well-appointed Jenneau 53 with four cabins, each with its own en suite bathroom.
The tour is well-organized in advance, with some built-in flexibility. Some nights we stayed in town on a marina berth, and some nights we picked up a mooring and dined on board. I particularly loved the quaint and sometimes remote restaurants that offered free mooring for the night and then picked us up in their tenders for an often luxurious dinner.
On some nights, we were in town and were free to dine where we pleased. On other nights, group dinners were included in the trip price, where we had the chance to meet others in the fleet. Many were repeat customers who had been on many Mariner trips and had even booked for next year.
If you are not a sailor, a skipper can be supplied, and it is also possible to charter by the cabin.
Some memorable moments include the little boats coming to help us take our lines to shore and med moor, in exchange for us buying ice cream or water. When we saw a husband and wife team doing the rounds and making and selling gozleme, we couldn't resist buying a few.
Our trip included an optional day trip to Greece, which was very memorable.
Warm weather, great sailing, swimming, and exploring historical monuments made for a fabulous trip. I highly recommend this small family-run business.

Go to bed under the stars, slide into the water for a swim before breakfast, hike to historical sites, experience breathtaking ocean views, eat at local restaurants, meet new friends, do a bit of dancing, share stories, play games, laugh until your face hurts, challenge yourself to do things you never thought you could do.......oh and do some sailing (weather permitting.) We have done two trips with Mariner - Greece and most recently Turkey, both have been awesome. There is a wonderful balance of structure and flexibility and Sarah from Mariner is a master at organisation and making sure everyone is engaged.
If you want a trip you'll talk about again and again, a Mariner Boating Holiday delivers.
Go on.........................do it soon!

My partner Vivienne and I have gone on several Mariner Boating holidays and enjoyed all of them.
A brief summary:
Croatia sailing cruise in company from Split to Dubrovnik ending in beautiful hotel and visit to old city.
Sardinia and Corsica Cruise picked up Yacht near Porto Cervo, visited yacht club then Maddelena and Bonefacio and Porto Veccia in Corsica and return.
Aegean Rally. We picked up yachts in Athens and started Rally races off Hellenic Yacht club raced overnight to Ios and after one day rest raced again to 4 other islands and back to Athens for prize giving.
French canal cruise with wine tastings hosted by Sir James Hardy. Picked up the canal barges in the Petite Saone and cruised to the Saone down to near Baune stopping each night near points of interest.

Mariner Boating's organization of hotels and dining venues was pretty good and made the holidays more enjoyable and less stressful. I would consider doing another one in the future.

We've had the pleasure of embarking on a couple of Mariner Boating Holidays. One of these was a week onboard a stunning Gulet in Turkey.

Our experience went far beyond what we had imagined, thanks to an incredible boat, an attentive crew, and an abundance of delights, from exquisite cuisine to breathtaking scenery and leisurely cruising.

While we're avid boat enthusiasts ourselves, we loved the opportunity to unwind and relax onboard as the crew expertly navigated us to the most enchanting destinations, pampering us with delectable food and refreshing beverages.

I highly recommend a Mariner Boating Gulet, it was so comfortable and relaxing and easily one of the best holidays we have ever had.

Thanks so much Kim. Our gulet suppliers definitely know how to treat our clients and the coastline of Turkiye is completely stunning. Hope we see you again some time.

This was our second Mariner trip, in Greece. We sailed the Cyclades Islands with too much wind (luckily downwind) to glassy seas. The choice of islands was great, not too busy. They arranged interesting visits, allowed independent sightseeing and flexibility in the itinerary. Really well organised and supported.

Everything about this trip was perfect! We sailed the Cyclades, stopping at small islands only accessible by boat. Sarah and her team are the perfect hosts: so welcoming, knowledgeable about the area and incredibly helpful with the sailing. The itinerary is an ideal mix of sailing days and island days, group activities and time to do your own thing. The group dinners were fantastic-- amazing food and such great camaraderie with all the new friends we made. All in all, an unforgettable two weeks that we hope to do again!

Sailing our very own 50ft yacht in the Med with a group of friends was an absolute joy. Mariner took care of the hard stuff, booking marinas, restaurants, suggesting anchorages, day trips and local knowledge. We could relax, make new friends and simply enjoy the sailing. Will definitely do it again.

My brother and I have done a few MarinerBoating Holidays and I can honestly say they are very well organised and great fun. Its a blend of fabulous destination, water sports, good food and fine wine, mixing your friends and family, with other people, also out to enjoy themselves, that come along too. Trevor, Maggie and Sarah Joyce all have loads of experience and know the right places to take you for the best of times.

Above all else, we loved Mariner Boating's unique itinerary formula, which made it the best way to enjoy sailing the Cyclades. They arrange a schedule of social sailing races between islands amongst a small fleet of yachts, interspersed with a day and a night off, to explore each island's history and culture, shop for local gifts, chill on a beach, and eat and drink at tiny, charming tavernas.

You have the option of sharing a yacht with a group of friends, or Mariner will pair you up with a few of their other clients, and if you lack sailing experience, they'll make sure you're on a yacht with competent sailors. You can also choose to pay for a local skipper to take charge, but since one of us had skipper's qualifications and both of us have some offshore sailing experience, we decided to do it ourselves, so we had the added pleasure of building our skippering confidence and skills along the way.

We sailed a Juneau Sun Odyssey 410 which was only a season or two old, in excellent condition and absolutely fully-equipped. We brought along some old friends of mine without any sailing experience so they got to learn a few things along the way too.

It was our first time in the Cyclades, and they are so beautiful! Very few of the islands have an airport so there are relatively fewer foreign tourists and the towns are smaller and even more beautiful than places like Santorini.

The Mariner team were very attentive, flexible, knowledgable and fun to hang out with (in fact I think we enjoyed their company even more than the other guests!). We had a few raucous nights and many adventures by day, and we would love to sail with Mariner again sometime.
