Well kept garden, designed in a very natural style, this beautiful and peacful park surrounds the national helenic parliament. Whether for striding or jogging, a very nice option in the greek capital.

Perhaps the only place in Athens that wasn't baking hot! There is a small zoo here and there was a botanical museum that's closed now, which is a shame. It's nice to stroll around and there are tour bus stops right outside the gate

The National Gardens were a bit of a letdown for us. Perhaps my expectations were too high. I am sure it was lovely at one point, but it needs a lot of work and attention. Still, it is refreshing to walk through the cool gardens...More

If you've already done the trek up to Acropolis, a quick stroll in the National Gardens with some delicious ice cream (lots of ice cream vendors to pick from around the park entrances) is a perfect way to relax and blend in with the locals....More

Peaceful and a welcome relief from heat. Didn't find anything exceptional but still enjoyed a stroll through and a sit down. In the middle of other attractions so not hard to find.

Perhaps the best place to get your bearings is
Syntagma Square, crowned by the imposing Parliament
building on its upper side and surrounded by other
large structures, such as the exclusive Hotel Grande
Bretagne. The grand avenues that lead towards Omonia
are also full of massive Neoclassical edifices like
the Numismatic Museum and those around smaller Platia
Kolokotroni. Here you will find lots of travel agents,
