Cheap to get in and ok to walk around but not much to see. Does give an excellent view of Acropolis.

The stadium was the foot racecourse. Races were started at the straignt end. The Athens stadium was commenced in 331 B.C. and reconstructed in 160 A.D. by Herodes Atticus. The stadium was destroyed by over-conservation between 1896 A.D and 1906 A.D. On visiting it today...More

Amazing that the ancients built this stadium entirely of marble 2,500 years ago. It is still in great shape and is one of the great sites in Athens to visit. Recommended.

One of highlights of our trip. It was really interesting to be able to walk everywhere in the such a historic stadium. There was also a great collection of Olympic posters and torches.

Good place to visit to get an understanding of how the old stadium used to be. Fully restored but appreciating the effort to keep it close to original.

I couldn't resist the chance to run around the 185 metre track. The marble seating still looks amazing. There is also a portacabin which sells souvenirs. An audio guide is provided as part of the 5 euros entrance charge.

Unfortunately we didn't attend an event there. There should be a seating chart to help you make a selection.

Yes there is a park nearby. Not the nicest area of the city but I didn’t feel it was dangerous
