My upper back and neck has been so sore and immovable for years!. Wow now I can move so much more, I creak but can move!. Need more sessions!. Physio therapy and chiropractor sessions failed. Your masseurs know exactly what they are doing!. I admit only lasted three quarters of session my fault , we stupidly had eaten a huge... More

I was in some agony after running the Athens marathon and was in need of some relaxation and recovery work. I was extremely glad I chose the Hammam Baths. Booked a couple of days before which paid dividends as it was busy upon my departure. I am relatively new to the spa/bath/massage phenomenon and as a rookie could not have... More

If you're in Athens, looking for a place to relax, this is the place to come. We tried the Ali Mama Hammam and it was the best massage we'd ever had. We first started out by sitting in the bath and sweating out the toxins. The Hammam room is really really hot. Make sure to keep pouring water on yourself... More

We came home talking about this day a lot. We loved it. Ok first things first - it's hot. Really hot. If you haven't done it before, it's going to take your breath away. Don't be afraid to keep pouring the water on yourself, and step outside for a glass of water if you feel like it. It's less hot... More

Worth a visit! We tried ali mama hammam treatment. The staff provided everything we needed. The bath and facilities are clean and well maintained. Malvina, the massage therapist who treated me, is amazing! Really enjoyed our time there!

My wife and I visited in September and had an excellent visit. The hamman was great, but we also had the best massages of our lives here. I strongly recommend visiting.

It was my first time in hammam. The place is very clean. Choose the "Ali mamma" package (45 euro per person) who includes the massage because the simple one without the massage is not something special. Make a reservation by telephone before you go.

We stayed at O&B Athens Boutique Hotel--also highly recommended--and Hamman Baths was a mere five minute walk. The hot room ritual of pouring water on oneself--perspiring and purifying oneself became a self-centering experience. The scrub and massage that followed was sublime and happens two at a time in a semi-public space adjacent to the circular hot room. The therapist was... More

Staying in Psirri / Gazi

Neighbourhood Profile
Psirri / Gazi
Side-by-side neighbourhoods Psirri and Gazi provide some of the city’s prime nightlife. The almost claustrophobic streets of Psirri feature an interesting blend of original small businesses with the restaurants, cafés and bars that have recently sprouted up. The central artery of Agion Anargiron Street has lively places to eat or drink. Further west, you can visit the peaceful ancient cemetery of Keramikos, then cross busy Pireos Street to find yourself in Gazi. With the huge Technopolis performance and art complex converted from old gasworks at its heart, you really have to come at night to appreciate this maze of bars at its best, although a daytime stroll will allow you to admire the excellent street art.
