Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This is real tourist territory but its also a colourful and lively area, with restaurants and taverns spilling down both sides of the stairs.
The stairs are not far from the Roman Agora and lead up to the quaint village of Anafiotika.
You can take your pick of restaurants here. We stopped about half-way up, at Geros Tou Moria for lunch. Whilst the food was only OK, we enjoyed sitting beside a corner window overlooking the stairs and the passers-by and soaking up the atmosphere.
In the evening, some of the restaurants have Greek music and dancers. Yes, it’s tourist central for sure but it would also have a fun atmosphere.

It’s a beautiful part of the city worth going to see, but packed with tourists. Some locals explained to us that if you don’t speak Greek, the restaurants give you a completely different menu with increased prices versus what the locals pay. As charming as it is in plaka and the city center, it’s better to eat and drink off the beaten path where you are not taken advantage of.

Nice to visit for photos of the stairs. But we did not have dinner here. Nearby to the stairs are many streets with interesting shops.

The Plaka Stairs leading upto the Acropolis are a great set of steps that are a must go destination if you're in the Plaka District.
Obviously an ancient route ,the stairs are lined with some really good restaurants and taverns ,there's some tucked away old churches and of course you have great views ,if you're into your photography take the camera ,you will take some great photos ,all in all a great set of stairs to check out .

There are plenty of great places to eat and have a noce time at luch or at dinner, but the cozy restaurants and taverns in the stairs are something special...you don't find this kind of scenery very often.
You can miss other places in Athens...not this one!

This is a very nice, very colorful little area. Coming down from the Akropolis is almost impossible to miss. Restaurants left and right in every color imaginable, folks sitting outside, enjoying their drinks and meals.
It's a very lively spot with lots of green, lots of colorful plants and happy crowds all around.
And it's really a nice place to grab some good food too. "Geros Tou Moria" had some really good items.
We'll be definitley back.
