Visible from every part of Athens, it's worth the queue which was substantial even in September. You can pay 10 Euro and get the services of a guide and skip the queue which is what we did. Visit the museum beforehand to appreciate the history...More

No words to describe it really. Even if you are not interested in history you will be impressed. Here are the tips: A) go EARLY - aim to be there at least 10 mins before it opens B) buy the multi ticket (only available at...More

Seeing ruins that have existed since the beginning of democracy was a dream come true. The climb up to the structures was made as easy as possible, but requires lots of stamina. The plateau I’d easy to get around, and I especially enjoyed seeing the...More

Though you can see the Parthenon from just about anywhere in Athens, you want to see it up close. Pay for a guide to help you understand its significance and history, otherwise you are just looking at a pile of rocks.

An amazing sight that is worth spending time here. A bit of a climb to the top of Acropolis but many stops and water stops. So glad we made it here.

Don't get me wrong, this is an amazing structure. Of course you can't walk inside, and the scaffolding/construction cranes involved in the major restoration project are scheduled to be there until 2020. They really undermine the majesty of what you would otherwise see.

As amazing as this looks on photos, nothing quite prepares you for seeing it in person. The scale and precision is still quite remarkable to this day. It gets really busy (even when we went in September) so be prepared for that, and also dress...More

Can been seen from just about every roof top restaurant and many hotels in Athens, but well worth making the effort to climb up and see first hand

Beautiful to travel to the Parthenon. Views are spectacular!!! One admission price will allow you to Dionysus theatre. Great photo opportunities.

Clearly one of the key spots in Athens--expect it to be crowded. Bring an umbrella to help with blocking out some of the heat if you come during the summer. This helps a lot as there is a lot of walking in open area with...More

€20 or €30 for a combined ticket, where you can also visit Hadrian’s Library, Temple of Olympian Zeus, The Ancient Agora of Athens and a couple more. Hope this helps.

Acropolis station is closest. Otherwise within walking distance is the Monastiraki station which allows you to go through the Plaza district. Then you could visit the Parthenon after viewing the Ancient Agora. I suggest... More
