It is worth visiting this fascinating piece of history at 8am when the crowds are less. It is a fabulous experience. It is also worth buying the 30 euro ticket so you also have access to the agora.

Most important buildings in western civilizations ... Go early to beat the heat and the crowd. Wear good shoes . It's a bit of a hike. Do not buy any grind from the food court by the ticket office . The food is expensive and junk . Keep your ticket as it's also a ticket for other Athens attractions .... More

I will start by saying how long the line was to get in and this was due to only having one ticket counter which i found rally strange. Any way worth a visit great views over Athens and the Acropolis is truly large.

It was VERY hot, windy, crowded...the little of the remaining ruins are held up by scaffolding which doesn't make for great viewing. I wish I would've tempered by expectations a bit and spent more time at the museums. I had better luck at some of the other, less crowded historical sights. Try to go very early or very late -... We only had 1 day where we could work in the Acropolis, and it ended up being in the afternoon, when it was quite hot. It would be better early in the morning, when the sun is not so potent!

We were waiting to see a more beautiful place but its not as good as we expected. The Ephesus is great there is only one wrecked building to see at Acropolis.

Worth the climb up the slippery steps in the hot weather. The view is breathtaking and the temple and Parthenon are extraordinary! Went back later on to watch the sunset from the rocks a few feet away!

The Acropolis 2,400 years old, and it is even older when you check the foundation. The Acropolis was actually built on top of an older temple. There are so many amazing things about this building that it is virtually impossible to list them all. First, neither the columns nor the flooring are straight, and this was done deliberately to make... More

One of the top sights that you must not miss. Go early in the morning or later in the day as it gets really crowded and hot in the summer. It takes about an hour roundtrip walk if you stop for some pictures but you could easily spend longer if you want to take in the view. Wear comfortable shoes... More

This is Athens!! This is where you need to go if you visits Athens!! If you need to choose, deselect everything else and go here. The history, the views... You'll get the best of everything... But go early to fight the long, long queues.
