A site with wonderful views over the Lima river, Viana do Castelo and the coast to the south. Take the funicular and, if your legs are good, don't miss the chance of climbing up to the zimbório (the church's pinnacle) - you will still have...More

We went up in the funicular which is worth the €3 as its a steep and long climb. Interesting little church but the views are incredible and what you come for. There's a staircase down (next to the funicular) which will give you jellylegs.

The views outside are as magnificent as the interior. So recommended to visit. And take the Funiculaire de Santa Luzia , a nice roundtrip !

This was definitely as advertised. Amazing views and a simple but well set up Basilica. We didn't climb the stairs, but it looked well setup watching people scurry above us.

Sorry for delay, admission is free. If you like going up to bell tower, each has separate elevator and you have to pay. It was 1 euro each. The one on the right has extra narrow steps to the top, the one on left has... More
