I worked in several hospitals in the mid '60's so enjoyed seeing the old equipment. Easy to take a self guided tour but limited info in English.

Well designed tour of key room and functions of hospital ship. Well restored. It would have been helpful if the video with former crew and Medical staff was subtitled in English.

Well, no snakes, but lots of ladders - ranging from easy going to up and down backwards and hanging on with both hands. One of these things that you would never imagine, a hospital and mother ship to support the Portuguese cod fishing fleet in the Atlantic. In my formative years, I had a lot to do with an English... We parked the car at the parking lot nearby and walked by the Navio Gil Eannes bh coincidence. After reading the information we decided to visit the ship. Good decision. The tour on the ship is well done, information is provided and it gives you a very good idea of the initial purpose of the ship. A hospital on the... More

Notable history of portuguese!!! Very sympathetic staff! It deserves a visit to understand the real difficulties of codfish fishing.

Historical ship built in the city shipyard during the 50s. Dedicated to support the cod fishermen in North Atlantic as a hospital ship. It's fully restored and almost the entire ship can be visited. Accessibility is difficult for elderly people. Well worth a visit for3,5€

Centrally located, and obviously an important ship for the town what a great idea to illustrate its history, which was fascinating

Had a fab afternoon here with our family. Everyone enjoy it. It is great value. Load free parking close by. Every corner and every room has something surprising and interesting. We spent 2 hrs here , but if we had more time we would spent longer or even went back again.

For a lover of all things sea-related, like me, this medical ship is a must. It was mainly used to service the Portuguese cod fishermen in Greenland and off the coast of Newfoundland in the 50's. I did not get a whole lot of other info, because most of the signage was in Spanish and Portuguese. However, it is clean,... More
