An Old Church

July 2022

There are lots of churches in Porto. I stepped into this one and admired the old school richness, treasures accumulated during the era of big money. Baroque.

Enormous Neighborhood Church

May 2022

This is an enormous church sitting in a middle of a little neighborhood at the bottom of the hill. It was a surprise as I walked through the area and a tribute to the riches that Portugal once controlled.

The church is slightly out of the main town centre but if you are in the area it's worth popping in. In fact it is only 10 mins from the church of Sao Francisco and is free.

I was waiting to visit

While we were walking through the city and going on the tour of the bridges over the Douro, we passed by and saw this beautiful church that was open but due to the rush we couldn't go in to see it. This church is from the 18th century and is dedicated to the patron saint of fishermen (São Pedro) in Miragaia, which is a fishing neighborhood. Also, the interior appears to be very beautiful and richly decorated, which is why I hope to visit this church on a future trip to the city.
