Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The toiled in a middle of the park is just the hidden gem. Found it accidentally in 2017. Anytime I am in Porto I have to see it. Would like to have such wall tiling at home - pure art nouveau. This building should be listed in all tour guides. Extraordinary, breathtaking, unexpected, beautiful …
Sorry to say but one day have to enter the ladies part :) just to check how it looks like.

This beautiful garden is half way along the Porto seafront and provides a nice break for a cool juice at the cafe when walking the length of the seafront. There is also a Crazy Golf course in the garden. You can walk, jog, skate, bike along the seafront. From this garden you can walk along the sea towards Castelo do Queijo, enjoying the walk or one of the many little beaches at Foz. Or walk towards Ponte da Arrabida and find Fortalexa de S. Joao Baptista, memorials to Portuguese Liberal War and Portuguese discoveries and a Bird Observatory. There are many more sights, too many to mention.

We stumbled onto this garden/park by accident after walking two miles down the coast...and it was such an oasis!
Located right next to the water, tree-lined, clean, and lovely, we walked from one end to the other, watched people playing mini-golf (it’s a funny course and people were having a blast), saw some mounted policemen (being very sweet to allow people to pet the horses), and I can even say that the bathrooms were delightful. All the tile in Portugal is so cool.

If you get the old bone-rattling No 1 tram from Porto centre, this is where you get off. [The tram starts below the S Francisco church in central Porto. Its 2.5 euros & they don’t appear to accept Andante cards now]. The gardens abut the Douro estuary and provide good views back up the river as far as the first bridge & over to Gaia & its beaches on the other side.
There are seats and palm trees all the way and a few small, but not very inviting cafes & entertainment places. As you reach the end, the gardens open to reveal the Sao Joao castle & the Foz beachfront. You can walk out as far as the old lighthouse where there are further, if rather bracing, seats. It’s the views you go for, rather than the gardens themselves which, apart from the dramatic palm trees, are somewhat ordinary.

Wonderful gardens to wander through with parakeets chattering away in the trees and a beautiful art nouveau toilet block in the centre

My wife and I visited these gardens/park a couple of times during our holiday vacation. We are peace and quiet seekers, so found the visits enjoyable and relaxed.
The gardens can be accessed by public transport. The tram number 1 route terminates at the location, or alternatively STCP's route 500 bus also has a bus stop at the location.
The gardens have wide pathways, and include green grass, shrubs, trees, many benches to sit on shaded by the trees, an assortment of fountains, a café, bandstand and toilets.
Typically autumnal when we visited with the leaves falling from the trees.
Worth checking out the lighthouse too during a visit, which is in very close proximity.

Great area to walk through next to the sea. Grassy parkland with lots of benches, and cafes/restaurants too. Nice for a quiet stroll

Found the park to be a perfect outdoor option for a stroll with a pram and to entertain two 6 year old children with a round of mini golf. There is a fantastic mini golf course at the edge of the park (closest to the fort). The ticket for under 13 was 1.5€ which included club and ball. I believe it would be 2€ for an adult. The park has a public toilet and there are a few places to grab a bite. The tram is a nice way to travel from the center of Porto till the edge of the park. Local buses also stop here and are a cheaper option. The river runs near the park. Nice setting when the weather is nice and not over exposed to the sun.

Perfect for a slow walk along Douro to the ocean... Unfortunately, some of the parts of the park are undergoing construction so there's a lot of machines around. But, it's winter.
Also, you should visit the minigolf course here, it is really fun! ;)

I took the tram to travel down here. It is very tranquil and peaceful. atmosphere. I saw locals jogging along the river. It is so relaxing.
The view here is very beautiful. If the tram is not full, you can enjoy the view of the riverside from the tram window.
