The collection is interesting but the layout very strange. Admittance is free, but there’s a charge for special displays (currently Frido Kahlo). Set in an old prison, one must follow stairs on many different levels to see the entire collection. The history of the prison...More

I visited this museum with a couple of friends and we found it very interesting, but all the information was in Portuguese with no English version. Luckily the entrance is free, you only pay the ticket for the temporary exhibitions. I think it is to...More

As keen photographers, we made sure to visit this Museum which is situated centrally in the City. There is a temporary exhibition relating to Frida Kahlo which we decided not to visit, having seen other similar presentations recently. However, the permanent collection is extensive, and...More

For a photography museum there was a distinct lack of photographic exhibits but a good selection of photographic equiptment. It should be said though that admision is free and the building, an old prison,is intresting.

This is a completely free museum and I can't recommend it enough. It currently has a collection of private photographs of Frida Kahlo's. This is a paid exhibition but in my opinion totally worth it. There are annotated notes of Frida's on some of the...More
