My wife and I had a walk along Avenue Gustave Eiffel to view this bridge. It was a nice peaceful relaxed walk by the River Douro, and away from all the hustle and bustle, so would definitely recommend this walk to peace and quiet seekers....More

Built by Gustave Eiffel before his famous exposition tower in Paris, it is still an active railroad bridge and worth a look (best to take a sail beneath it, as it is not visible from the city center)

It was planned by Gustave Eiffel, and was ready in 1867. It is still in use, but you cannot walk on it.
