Nice area for some interesting architecture including the town hall. Relaxing area up near the town hall. Overall a pleasant spot for a walkabout.

If you walk straight out the doors of the InterContinental, you will run into this statue. Located in the central square (Praca da Liberdade), it is a good meeting point.

The king rides impressively on his mount and certainly is a focal point for the square and of course "selfies."

You will find this statue in the central square (Praca da Liberdade), but you could easily miss it through being distracted by other nearby attractions. I wouldn't be too concerned if you do!

Good place to meet your travel companions if you get lost in Porto. The statue is dedicated to King Pedro IV, who ruled the Empire of Portugal and Brazil in the beginning of 19th century and was known for his attempts to move from absolutism...More

Okay statue but after seeing many this was just another one. However, it might be better than I think!

This monument is impressive, especially when viewed up close. It is located towards one end of Porto's busiest plaza in the city's center.

This is one of the many historic statues in Porto. Unless you know your Portuguese history, it is just a man wearing a hat sat on a horse! Our guide did explain but I have not retained the information!

After you have seen hundreds of bronze statues they all begin to look alike - an important guy on a horse. Nothing special about this one unless you are a Spanish history buff.
