This cost 2.50 euros for about 1 minute. There are buses that will take you right to the top of the hill for much less.

It is the simplest way to reach the Luis I bridge from the Douro embarkment. Additionaly it is interesting attraction for tourists. The way will take only few minutes.

We went at night and in the rain , partly to take shelter from the rain , so we didn't see much, but it saved a hilly walk! Not that long a trip, but for a few Euros you get what you pay for.

I did not ride the funicular ... but I stood on the bridge and watched it go up and down, saving lots and lots of steps for many people. If I were closer, I would have taken this ride.

Easy way to get from the top to the bottom in Porto. Easier that the uphill walk, Also gives a great view across the Douro . Well worth the 2.5 euro.
