Very impressive tile-work stretching high up to the ceiling. Loved some of the detail such as the old lady bending over to pick some coins up. Didn't see any unsavoury characters hanging around which makes a change for city railway stations. Well kept and clean.

We had heard that this train station was special and it lived up to its reputation. The time pictures are the largest we have ever seen. They are huge and very impressive. The station is well worth a stop when in Porto.

Take some time to have a good look at the tile work and the transport history in the main hall regardless of whether you are travelling on a train.

Not your average train station! Great tile work and back stories behind the pictures. Google the story and look for the mistake in the tile mural with the young girls...its an interesting fix by the artist.

What a beautiful station, every wall has a story laid out in beautiful tiles the ceiling is spectacular as well. Just inside where the platforms are you will find a miniature replica of the station

obviously, most tourists come to Sao Bento to see the beautiful tile work, but more importantly, for me, was finding a place to exchange dollars to euros. None of the banks in Porto would exchange money unless one had an account there. The currency exchange...More

This railway station is worth a visit even if you are not going anywhere by train. All the walls are coverred with beautiful traditional blue tiles which are part of the history.

A must see when you are in Porto. The walls are beautiful and are part of this historic city. It is more like a gallery than a train station

No. I was there yesterday and there was no Time Out market there to be seen. Can’t see how that would work at the site, TBH. Perhaps near it, but inside it would be a travesty - in my humble opinion :) If you’re after a... More

Hi I can remember the switch at Campanha was free. There are clear signs when you stop on the track where to go underneath the rail to the other side of the track. It was free because we didn't exit the station but merely... More
